  1. You're far alone in this thought. Still a lot of people in the industry think this is the case. However, having personally seen mobile malware exponentially raise year over year, it's a completely different threat landscape then it was when the Android OS was introduced. It certainly has kept me busy through the years! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Thanks again for understanding, Nathan
  2. Hi @wac65, Message from our support staff: We apologize for this inconvenience. The Malwarebytes app was removed from the Amazon store due to changes in Amazon's requirements. We are evaluating options for bringing the app back to the store. Continue to periodically check the Amazon store for Malwarebytes availability. Let us know if you have any other questions. Once again, our apologies, Nathan
  3. Hi @EPL, Yes, you can run other mobile anti-malware scanners alongside Malwarebytes. But as @exile360 stated, you'll see a performance hit. Especially if they both scan at the same time. Exile360 appropriate all the help! I just want to address one thing you stated with some stats: In our Malware Intelligence System, we process 15k-25k potential malware samples daily. We detect over 23 million apps in the system. And we see thousands of apps detected on the Malwarebytes for Android client daily. By no fault of your own, there seems to be a very common misunderstand

  5. Hi @stungy, So you are not experiencing ad pop-ups outside of these apps? googleads & doublclick are just showing up in your Blokada logs? This seems like it may be a question for Blokada themselves. Nathan
  6. Hi @ineedhelprn, These types of ads are usually browser related. This is caused by the way most browsers handle redirections executed by javascript code. Most browsers don't do a great job of preventing these redirects, which also cause ad pop-ups. Advertising affiliates are aware of this, and exploit this weakness. Even if an advertising affiliate is shut down for using this exploit, they just come back with a different affiliate id and are right back at it. The best way to block these pop-ups are to try a different browsers, disable javascript, install a browser with ad bl
  7. Hi @Fred232, Let me see if I can answer your questions. Increasing numbers of files is normal. Most likely just typical system files. No need to worry about them too much. We just scan them to make sure an APK isn't hiding as a file in storage. We scan all your apps (listed under Your apps) in addition to system files. These system files won't be shown in reports or in a File Manager. You are correct. Can simply means it is possible. The discrepancy in the numbers is because you are not seeing system apps. For example, in Can install apps from an unknown sou
  8. Hi @IanH2, Since you reset your device, it appears Adups is once again active. You'll need to remove them again: Uninstalling Adups and other preinstalled malware via ADB command line tool Also, are you seeing the same odd App with Chinese characters in your Apps list? Nathan
  9. Hi @LSpachuau, So the link is spammed via your WhatsApp? Do you happen to have a screenshot? Nathan
  10. Hi @jonzid, It believe that 3.7.5.x is still in Beta, and will be released at a later date. Nathan
  11. Hi @jonzid, Yes. As long as you use the same Google Account that you used to purchased through Google PLAY, you can use Malwarebytes for Android on multiple devices with no price change. Nathan
  12. Hi @jonzid, Agreed! A Trojan.Clicker is definitely something worth detecting! Looking back at the case, we do definitely still detect Android/Trojan.Clicker.NADS. We simply made the detection more specific to ensure that we were detecting Clicker.NADS, and not anything else. Nathan
  13. Hi @fatimabetzest, I'll forward this to our Web Protection team for review. Nathan
  14. Hi @lesborean, Well, my first question was going to be if there were any non-Latin characters in the directory and/or filenames. Obviously from the screenshot, that appears to be the case. If not needed, it might be a good idea to delete those files. You can do so using a file manager. For example, ASTRO File Manager. More importantly, if you could kindly submit a support ticket, we can get this case into the queue to give a deeper look: https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Nathan

  16. Hi @EPL, Will there be future updates? Yes, absolutely. Can we share the timeline? No, not at this time. I can assure you that Malwarbytes for Android is alive and thriving though! Nathan

  18. Nice catch @nukecad! I was 99% sure it was a scam. This takes care of the other 1% of any doubt! ๐Ÿ˜
  19. Hi @aleeam, Technically, yes. HOWEVER, it is very, very unlikely this is true in this case. Are they trying to extort money from you? It's most likely scare tactic scam to get you send money. They bulk send out this kind of spam hoping someone will fall for it. Nathan
  20. Hi @stungy, AirShip is a legitimate analytics company used by many legitimate apps. Those analytics are used to send "meaningful messages" to customers. Is Blokada blocking them? There is no malicious activity going on here. Thus, we don't detect. If you are really worried about them, you can try uninstalling recently installed apps as one of them is probably using AirShip. Otherwise you can just ignore them as they are harmless. Nathan
  21. Hi @Gt-truth, So you are getting ads at the beginning of YouTube Videos, correct? This action is actually legitimate. Many apps and services legitimately shows ads in order to keep the app/service free. It becomes Adware if the ads become aggressive. This includes pop-up ads that overlay on screen, ads on lock screen, ads in notifications, ad redirects, etc. Nathan
  22. Hi @Gt-truth, Are the Ads constant, or only every once and awhile? May be good idea to clear cache and history if it's constant. Nathan
