  1. Thank you for this. I have done as described in your instructions, but still Malwarebytes shots down MS Word 2013, mostly when opening a Word ducument but also somewtimes if I open Firefoxe while working on a Word document. I now turn off malwarebytes while working in Word because ity keeps destryong the .dot file and Word has to rebuild it each time Malwarebytes shuts Word down.
  2. Thank you. I will await any explanations offered. Thank you for helping so far.
  3. Thank you. I have updated as you instructed to version 3.4.5. Here is a more recent report of the same problem - the logs are not in order of date: Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 3/30/18 Protection Event Time: 9:31 AM Log File: b31bcae0-33f4-11e8-9e3d-00ffe2d7811d.json Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.4.4.2398 Components Version: 1.0.322 Update Package Version: 1.0.4544 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Exploit Details- File: 0 (No malicious items detected) Exploit: 1 Malware.Exploit.Agent.Generic, , Blocked, [0], [392684],0.0.0 -Exploit Data- Affected Application: Microsoft Office Word Protection Layer: Application Hardening Protection Technique: Exploit blocked by Bottom-Up ASLR Enforcement File Name: URL: (end) I will see if the new upade cures the problem - though it has been happening through several versions. I would be interested to know what this exploit data means is happening.
  4. Thank you. The logs do not seem to record every instance. I have version 3.4.4 which is what it says when I open malwarebytes. It only recently updated to 3.4.4 and I allow updated versions whenever they are indicated to download. However, this problem has been occuring for many months through several versions.
  5. Malwarebytes 3.4.4 keeps closing MS Word 2013 This happens most often when opening Word. But also while working on a document suddenlt Malwarebytes shuts it down. In either case Word has to either recreate the dot template, or recover the lost document if shut down while editing. I now have to close Malwarebytes while working on Word documents, which is my main work on the computer. Below is the report of the last instance: Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 3/15/18 Protection Event Time: 12:55 PM Log File: 12eee160-2850-11e8-8c74-00ffe2d7811d.json Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.3.1.2183 Components Version: 1.0.262 Update Package Version: 1.0.4366 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Exploit Details- File: 0 (No malicious items detected) Exploit: 1 Malware.Exploit.Agent.Generic, , Blocked, [0], [392684],0.0.0 -Exploit Data- Affected Application: Microsoft Office Word Protection Layer: Application Hardening Protection Technique: Exploit blocked by Bottom-Up ASLR Enforcement File Name: URL: (end) I would appreciate any advice.
  6. Many thanks for your explanation. I will see if I can change the compatibilty setting in the shortcut, or else just continue to disable MBAM during launth as you suggest. Pioneer8
  7. I am wondering if there is any update on this problem yet. It would be much appreciated.
  8. Many thanks for your update. I am glad you have been able to replicate the problem.
  9. Just wondering if you have had any luck with this question after 5 days?
  10. Thank you. I attach the log files as you request in the hope you will perhaps see what is wrong. Addition.txt CheckResults.txt FRST.txt
  11. Thank you. But having read what the other user with the same problem did, I think I will do the same as him and restore XP from an image I recently made. This will restore the earlier version of Malwarebytes. Like him, I only use XP for a few jobs I cannot do on Windows 7. Apart from updating its virus protection and Malwarebytes I no longer use it on the Internet. I might also note that the new version of Mlawarebytes will not allow a simple computer shutdown. Instead it asks to be closed on every shutdown. So there does seem to be incompatibility problems with XP with the lates Premium version. Thanks
  12. Thank you for your replies. I should have said "Premium" version as you suggested. It was when it upgraded automatically from the Pro version to the Premium that the problem began. I was running the earlier version from 15/08/3013 when I purchaed the licence. I hd no trouble with that. It was only after the ugrade to Version: 2.00.2.1012 that this problem began. It was only by chance I suspected it was Malwarebytes that was preventing Photoshop from starting up since it was the latest change made to my computer. Malwarebytes itself does not report anything about the problem. I attach a log of the latest scan. I will follow your other suggestions and report back. Thanks malwarebytes-logfile.txt
  13. I am running XP Pro 32bit with Malewarebytes Pro. All worked fine until the malwarebytes update installed the new version of Mlalwarebytes Pro. Since then, Photoshop 5 hangs on starting up. This can resloved only by exiting Malwarebytes continuous monitoring. Is there any resulution of this problem, apart from exiting Malwarebytes monitoring while using Photoshop?
