  1. I managed to complete a custom scan, somewhat successfully. While it came back clean, I received several error messages and a program crashed. Among them were a error message about "restart.exe," that an Abobe Flash file wasn't a valid Windows imag, and "Update Agent From HP," which runs in the background, crashed. All these messages were on the screen when I came back to check on the scan's progress. Prior to making this post, I again ran full system scans with Norton 360 and Super AntiSpyware, which both came back clean, as well as another Theat Scan with MBAM 2.0, which came back clean as well and didn't cause any crashes or error messages. Thus, it seems the problem is with how MBAM 2.0 performs its custom scan. Nonetheless, I've attached the requested diagnostic scans. FRST.txt Addition.txt CheckResults.txt
  2. I'm unable to run a custom scan on my computer. When I try, Windows crashes and restarts, returning a Windows Error message upon doing so. This has happened both times I've attempted it. AFAIK, I don't have malware as I have successfully completed full scans with Norton 360 (clean) and Super AntiSpyware (which did remove two suspected files in System Volume) and I am able to run MBAM's Threat Scan. I'm using Windows XP SP3.
  3. Thank you, that fixed the problem. If I may ask, if the same problem was experienced by many people, why did we all have different error messages?
  4. Since I have a different error code from some of the posts, is the solution still to uninstall MBAM and install the new version (Please provide a link if it's not the one available on the main site) you mentioned?
  5. OK, I tried updating literally after I made this post and it worked. Please disregard it.
  6. I tried updating MBAM Free Edition, but I get the following error message: An error has occurred. Please report this error code to our support team PROGRAM_ERROR_UPDATING (404, 0 HTTPStatusCode) I have database version 6504. How do I fix this error? Would the steps given in this post fix the problem?: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=69881&st=0&p=358609entry358609
  7. Thank you Firefox. However, wijllie's solution worked. I deleted the ref file and did an update. It noted the missing file and asked if I wanted to download the current database, which it did.
  8. Tonight, at 12:40, I tried updating MBAM Free Edition. I got the following error message, "The current database is not supported by this version of Malwarebytes's Anti-Malware. Please download the latest version of the program." Unfortunately, I do have the latest version and this error message now appear every time I click on the MBAM icon to start it. Do I re-intall, delete a certain file, am I the only one with this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Lately, I've been having problems with my DSL disconnecting. One instance was with Super Antispyware updating and locking up as the DSL connection came back 15 minutes later. This caused me to restart the computer as SAS denies access by Task Manager and Process Explorer. I would like to know what happens if the DSL connection fails when MBAM is updating?
  10. Thank you. However, when I do a right-click scan on some of my folders, such as ones containing pictures, a log file is produced, as it always is when I scan using MBAM, which lists the number of objects scanned. I assumed a log file was produced for all scans when the two options in the Settings menu are chosen. I'm on Windows XP SP3, which I forgot to include in my original post.
  11. Today, a friend download some video files. After he was done, he wanted to scan them, they were in a folder on my computer, with my AV before transferring them to his flash drive. As usual, I scan it with my AV as well as MBAM and SAS. However, the MBAM log said that 0 objects were scanned. The scan did work when I went into the folder, chose "Select All" and then scanned. Is there a reason for this? A glitch?
  12. OK, I reformatted my computer earlier this month. I decided after seeing this new post to do a search for it. Except for references of it in a JS script file, Windows/inf , Windows/I386, in a service packfile/i386, a service pack cache file and a service pack uninstall file (lay out files) and Windows/repair (setup file), all of which are 2-4 years old, I find no trace of it on my drive or in its previous location. Previously, I had AOL 9.1 installed, but after I reformatted, I install AOL 9.5. If it was related to AOL, it's not currently in use.
  13. Welcome to the club. You're the third person who has had these scan result. Amethyst and I had previously posted about this, but haven't really gotten a response.
  14. Yes, it's an HP. I just had my computer reformatted. I've rebooted and everything seems ok. When I first installed MBAM last year, it deleted a lot of adware. After I ran MBAM and rebooted, I ran Super AntiSpyware and it found : Trojan.Agent/Gen-Nullo[short] in System Restore. I think this was a copy of whatever MBAM deleted. I placed it into quarantine as well. Complete scans using both show nothing now.
  15. I ran a scan today and came up with this: Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 4 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 1 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{661e32fd-a5f0-49bc-96cc-d872fe10a7dc} (AdWare.WebHancer) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{3296405e-e08f-4442-801e-3dcd2c6aa82c} (AdWare.WebHancer) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{bf0118d4-63ff-4138-9327-f3028fb1a578} (AdWare.WebHancer) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\{bf0118d4-63ff-4138-9327-f3028fb1a578} (AdWare.WebHancer) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper\welcome\AWhelper.dll (AdWare.WebHancer) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. I currently have them in quarantine and haven't deleted them from it. I just had my computer reformatted and don't want to permanently delete any essential. So false positives or malicious stuff?
