  1. Hi, I recently installed the free version of MBAM on a machine that I'm pretty sure has never had it installed on before and it scanned and found some threats. When I pressed the Quarantine button, it said the product is not licensed for this feature, or some such. Has MBAM now stopped the ability to remove or quarantine threats on its free edition?
  2. Well, as no one seemed to reply to my logs, I thought I'd update by saying I got it to work by uninstalling using MBAM clean and reinstalling via the website. Just an FYI as no one seems to care.
  3. Here you go! MB-CheckResult.txt Addition.txt FRST.txt
  4. I have tried the steps at the beginning telling me to turn on Self Protection Module, reboot and, if that doesn't work, to turn off Self Protection Module and reboot, and still Web Protection will not come on. I clicked the switch to turn it on ten minutes ago and it turned green, says it's "starting" and still I'm waiting for it to start. Every time I turn on my laptop, I get message saying Protection Layers have been turned off, and that I am not fully protected. This is a PAID version. Why am I paying for it if it isn't protecting me? How about some REAL solutions instead of the lackadaisical attitude at the beginning?
  5. I have this issue too and my license doesn't even expire until TOMORROW, for gods sake.
  6. I have to ay that I am having this problem too, with the Anti HeapSpraying in MBAE and Comodo. Is there a solution yet? Thanks
  7. I'd just like to say: Thank you very much for the help. Despite the slow start you have been very helpful and patient and I appreciate it very much indeed. Thank you!!
  8. Okay, done all that. No problems removing or reinstalling anything so fingers crossed I can stop pestering you for a while. :-)
  9. I hate to be a nuisance but am unsure why I need to uninstall MBAM when it's MBAE I'm having problems with now.
  10. I unintalled the version from last night and installed the new version. Have set the self protection module. All seems to be working for now. However, MBAE said it couldn't start (again) so I uninstalled it but when I try to reinstall it, I get the original error message again (0xc0000279). What have I done this time??
  11. Sorry for not replying sooner. Overslept this morning and only just got a break at work. MBAM cleaned fine after doing those last instructions, and also reinstalled without a hitch too. MBAE reinstalled as well, but the second time I started FireFox, it came up saying it couldn't load. (I'm not sure if that would be considered a separate issue/forum thread though.) I haven't tried it or MBAM since. Was too tired to mess too much last night and then see above... I do have a question, though. If the self-protection messes up MBAM, which I'm assuming was the case this time as nobody has explained to me what the problem actually was, then what, if any, is the point to it? And if I'm way off base, then hit me and tell me to shut up :-)
  12. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to run a scan first, so I did. i hope that's okay. Fixlog.txt
  13. It's not that I have a problem with doing it, I was just unsure as to what the rescue disk does. And I was under the impression that I was doing a manual uninstall using FRST. I'm happy to do whatever it is you tell me to do but I just like to understand what I'm doing and why.
