  1. Malwarebytes silently fails to load on my HP 2000 notebook running Windows 8.1. It's not even showing up in the processes tab on Windows Task Manager. All my drivers installed & up-to-date when attempting to load from the installed directory/shortcut. Additionally, mbam is not loading with Windows as I told it to in the configuration when I first installed and configured everything (mbam worked perfectly well on this same installation not too long ago). When I attempt to use Chameleon on my Malwarebytes Premium Disk to get mbam running, I get the following output: In Windows Services MBAMScheduler and MBAMService are both listed as stopped. and when I attempt to start them I recieve the following error: In Windows Safe Mode i am unable to start the MBAM process because the process can not be started in safe mode? It is worth mentioning that I must copy the contents of the CD onto my drive because I am unable to execute the setup file from the disk (as if i'm re-installing) because when I double click the disk in explorer Windows says When I run the installer from the copied folder (on my desktop as opposed to the disk) as an administrator I get the following error three times in a row: and finally This system meets both the hardware and software minimum requirements. It is possible the the PC became infected while being used by my nephew, whom is notorious for "accidently"? installing malware on the laptop all the time. I've tried to help him understand how to avoid such threats but it doesn't seem to stick for him. I am still able to operating other programs normally. Attached is the Hijack This log for said system. hijackthis log.txt
