Hi Ron All done but still no improvement. I attach the log from JavaRa as requested and have cleaned an reinstalled MBAM but it still hangs on the pre-operation scan and I have to reboot by using the power button. I cannot even use Ctrl Alt Del to kill the process. It is almost as if MBAM has gone into a very tight loop. Kind regards Roy JavaRa.log

Hi Ron The computer seems fine apart from the fact that I still cannot run MBAM. As before, when I click scan it locks up the entire computer and I have to use the power button to reboot. Also I now have a message every time I boot up asking if I want to run Smart File Advisor for unknown files. So far I have always said No but should I say yes? Roy

Hi Tried running MBAM again (Next step) and it gets a LITTLE further but then still freezes the machine. I will run the av check next Roy

Have managed to run rogue killer now and a log is attached. It seems to be saying something about Root.necurs?? I will move on and run the remaining steps Roy RKreport_SCN_06132014_092439.log

Hi OK an update 1. None of those programs had compatibility settings. 2. I have run RKill - log attached 3. I have backed up the registry using ERUNT 4. I tried again running MBAM - I have already been around the loop of cleaning it and reinstalling it - and of course it froze my computer again. It freezes a little way into the "Pre Scan Operations" and is such a tight freeze that the only way to get any control is to power off the computer by using the power button and reboot. When it freezes NOTHING works - no mouse, keyboard - nothing. So my question now is should I now go on to try RogueKiller? I am out tomorrow so it will be Thursday before I get back to this Roy Rkill.txt
