  1. I have used malwarebytes for years. I cannot get the free version to load on either of my xp machines. I see other people are having the same issue with no resolution. They both run XP SP3 1) Machine #1 during update of 2.1.6 identified a new version. Installed it but received professional. Ran mbam removal tool. Tried to install a clean version and it is the professional version. 2) Machine #2. Thought maybe it was better to remove malwarebytes so I ran the mbam removal tool. Reinstalled and got the professional version. On both tries I unchecked load the free trial version.
  2. Nope .... I manually manage those updates. The only thing I changed was an upgrade from malwarebytes 1 to malwarebytes 2
  3. Hi, I am not very technical. Yesterday I updated malwarebytes from version1 to version 2. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I rebooted the PC after ... and during the reboot I saw that Windows it self was updating and it said that there were registry changes. All I did was update malwarebytes to 2.0. Does this sound correct? Steve
  4. So I zipped the file and also attached the log Setup.zip MBAM-log-2014-06-01 (14-58-38).txt
  5. I am not super technical so please forgive me. I ran malwarebytes today and it showed Pup.Optional.Tarma.A in an exe file and 2 registry keys. I use Norton Ghost as a disk immager. I installed a very old image on my PC ... one that was clean and where I had run malewarebytes many times after it and it was clean. After the image loaded ... I updated Malwarebytes and it showed the same 3 Pup warnings. I ran Jyotti and Clam Av found PUA.win32.Packer.SetupExeSection which I understand is often found whn malwarebytes identifies a Pup. I ran VirusTtoal and only malwarebytes found a Pup I ran Metascan which was clean. Any chance there is something amiss with the Malwarebytes files today? I tried to upload the file ... with both the basic and advanced but it a setup.exe file and it said I wasn't permitted to upload this type of file.
