Just leaving this as reference in case any users may have the same problem. I had an issue installing Windows Update KB5017389. I spent many hours diagnosing it and I was able to resolve my issue by uninstalling Malwarebytes. After that, I confirmed the solution on a second PC. https://www.elevenforum.com/t/kb5017389-build-22671-607-fails-to-install.9133/ I'm on Windows 11 Pro x64 22H2 build 22621.521 and the update fails to install. It reboots 3 or 4 times. Update installation reaches 96% and then it starts reverting. Again taking 3 or 4 restarts to revert everything. I tried manually downloading and installing the update from MS Update Catalog, but same error. I'm running under the built-in Administrator account, with ZoneAlarm Free firewall v. 15.8.211.19229 and Malwarebytes Premium v. 4.5.14.210 I already tried: Running the Windows Update troubleshooter Running "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" Running "sfc /scannow" Update 2: I confirmed Malwarebytes being the culprit in my case. A second PC had the same issue and when I uninstalled Malwarebytes Premium first the issue was solved. Please don't ask for logs. I'm not willing to provide them for privacy reasons. I solved my issue, but this thread may still hold value for users who have the same problem. Please note there may be other reasons why KB5017389 fails to install. And I had a third PC that also has Malwarebytes Premium which does not have this problem. The PC that had no problem installing KB5017389 with Malwarebytes had a clean install of Windows 11 22H2 The PC that have the problems both were updated from Windows 11 21H2 to Windows 11 22H2. To the admins: In case this thread gets no replies within 7 days, It's probably an issue specific to my configurations. Feel free to lock this thread as I found my solution. But if more users run into this problem it may need a fix from either Microsoft or Malwarebytes.

How do I allow Winamp to run again?
TheQuickFox replied to TheQuickFox's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
No, I have not. (I never changed any exploit protection settings) I verified it and it is off. -
How do I allow Winamp to run again?
TheQuickFox replied to TheQuickFox's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Update: I solved the issue myself. I noticed that exploit protection uses it's own allow list. I disabled exploit protection for Winamp and it runs again. For sake of usability I would recommend changing the functionality of this by accepting any program in the Malwarebytes allow list to also be allowed in the exploit protection module. -
Malwarebytes is blocking Winamp to run on my computer. It detects it as exploit. I added Winamp.exe and the Winamp folder to the allow list of Malwarebytes and Malwarebytes is still blocking the program from running. When I disable exploit protection, Winamp runs again, but then Malwarebytes warns me of not being properly protected. How do I make Malwarebytes to leave Winamp alone? I'm running Winamp 5.666 on Windows 7 x64.

Dell Precision 5820 firmware update quarantined
TheQuickFox replied to TheQuickFox's topic in File Detections
Thanks, apparently Dell is still offering the affected driver for download. I assumed all official downloads from the Dell site to be safe but maybe that's incorrect. -

Malwarebytes 4.3 did it! https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/windows-10/february-2021/ https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/windows-10/february-2021/malwarebytes-premium-4.3-211113/ Very nice job! Since Malwarebytes entered AV-test and was independently reviewed on the PC Security Channel for the first time, there has been a steady improvement of the protection rating of the product. While is was arguably not so good a few years back, now it seems that Malwarebytes can compete with the best products on the market again. Congratulations! For myself I can add: The four lifetime licenses I bought a couple of years ago have been among the best purchases I ever made. PS. I preferred to post this topic in the Malwarebytes news forum, but I don't have rights to do so.

My Malwarebytes Premium (latest version, see screenshot) on Windows 7 Professional x64 with web protection enabled is slowing down and failing network connections. Without going into a full investigation and providing full logs: Is this a known issue being worked on or am I the only one? Some details: The Windows 7 Pro machine is running an Apache web server and a network proxy service. I noticed slow and failed connections over time. When I disable Malwarebytes web protection the issue seems to be gone. It may be an issue with network connection speed degrading over time.

Malwarebytes 4.0.4 is enabled and protecting my system. The setting to register Malwarebytes as anti-virus program with Windows security center has been enabled. But Windows security center warns me that virus- and spyware protection is disabled. When I disable and re-enable the "Always register Malwarebytes with Windows security center" option, the warning goes away, only to return after the next reboot. I've got this issue on all of my 4 Windows 7 x64 computers. Is this a known issue with the new Malwarebytes 4? I did not have it with v3.

https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/windows-10/february-2019/ Malwarebytes isn't doing too well here. Which is a pity because MBAM used to be THE go-to solution to remove malware from your PC. Back in the says, MBAM had the name to be the "most recommended malware remover by OTHER AV-companies" because users who contacted the helpdesk of other AV-companies with infected systems, more than often got the advice to download and run MBAM to clean up their systems. But it seems that Malwarebytes is doing less than optimal as overall virus detection and prevention tool.

I got the same message on my Windows Desktop. Malwarebytes Premium Lifetime. How do I stop this? Because I learned not to click on ads I killed it with task manager. But I'm not sure if it will come back or show up at my other computers. (Who also have licensed versions of Malwarebytes)
