  1. Update - The Beta solved the problem at least for now. BTW, you don't have to reboot vs what says. Beta installed and protection came on automatically.
  2. Mine turned on again without problems a few days ago. Not sure if an update was pushed, I didn't do anything but let's see how long it lasts.
  3. Same problem - last time it was related to Grammarly and reinstalled a newer I believe Beta version and solved. A few days ago unable to start real-time protection layers but don't find what the problem is. There are some other threads here about this, seems to be fairly widespread.
  4. I wonder if tcloud is running grammerly? I just starting having the same issue real time turned off and starting hangs. About a month ago issue solved by a Malwarebytes update I did direct from website - may have been Beta but now latest update brings back the issue?
  5. I reinstalled last night and they like each other again. But it seems the issue pops up with Grammarly updates assuming they had one in the last few days. This is 2nd or 3rd time the issue has popped up.
  6. Just happened again to me. I had excluded the file before I thought. Grammerly must have just done an update. Starting Word in safe mode doesn't let me get to disable the add-on, crashes with Malwarebites exploit warning. Will try and uninstall and reinstall but this seems to happen every time there is a Grammerly update.
  7. Lots of folks experiencing this. Excluding the update directory didn't work for me. I had to open Word in safe mode (Control+Word) and delete (uncheck) the Grammerly add on. But would like to have it work.
  8. Update: Had to start Word in safe mode (control + Word) and uncheck Grammerly in add-ons. Then opened ok in regular mode. But have to solve so I can use Grammerly.
  9. Likewise. There is another thread here same problem with earlier version of the grammerly exe file. Solution then was to exclude the folder for updates. I think you have to reboot to take effect since didn't cure without for me. Folder for me is C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Grammarly\Updates\ You may have different user name other than user. Am now rebooting and hopefully will let me into Word 2016 Well, didn't work. Excluded the Grammerly/Updates/ directory, rebooted and Word 2016 still crashes

  11. Just started for me today. Can not open Word 2016 due to a 6.97.exe file Malware says exploit. Exactly the same as earlier reports on this thread just the add in appears new ver 6.97 will try and exclude.
  12. I have seen this issue on this forum and others but always assume is a virus but instead of doing all the infection procedures thought I'd just raise the issue. It seems Malwarebytes is doing its job. Every week or so I get for many hours many times a second attempts by an IP usually from China with popup warnings by MB. I have run 5 other deep virus and Malware programs and all run even with deep scan as clean. My thought is for those that keep having these popups it is more proof MB is doing its job vs being infected? If I reboot I can usually stop the attack or probe or whatever it is. T
  13. I may have solved the issue but posting this as a possible heads up for others so won't waste the hours I just did chasing down problems. Am using Win 7 64 bit. Been using Malwarebytes (MB)for years with no problem. Last night it did the latest Win 7 update or some windows update of some sort resulting it seems in two issues: 1) Not MB related but after hours of Google reserach it seems the latest Windows update, automatically and without warning or invitation installs bing both a toolbar, takes over your default home settings in both IE and FireFox Since this isn't mb related just say wasted
