  1. @Vabadus Thank you for your post. No, I only selected the box in the "Setting", "Notifications", "Allow RTP Pausing ..." I saw no MBA icon, because I had turned that off. I don't like icons taking up real estate on my smart phone. I have turned the MBA icon back on, and now I can see that option. When I backup my smart phone again next week, I will test it again. Thank you for the clarification of how this works. I just thought that selecting the one item was sufficient ... Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  2. @Vabadus I am really sorry to have to report that activating: "Allow RTP Pausing from Notifications" had absolutely no impact on the issue. When backing up my smart phone on both of my computers today, with that option checked, the smart phone continued to buzz and show ransomware protection notifications while backing up the applications, via the SmartSwitch backup software. The ransomware module seems to be targeting my 64 GB micro-SD card in the Samsung smart phone, which only has a few photos on it. I would really appreciate this issue being fixed. It is very annoying and it has been going on for a very long time. Thank you and have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  3. @Rae0920 Are you sure that you have posted in the right Forum? This is the Forum for Android, which normally is found on smartphones. You make mention of your mother's "computer". I would recommend that you post in the Malwarebytes 3 Support Forum if it is her computer rather than her smartphone. I am not aware of a way to stop all pop-ups, but then I have never wanted to stop them. They warn me about an unsafe download or website, and I would rather know about that. You can add "Exclusions" under "Settings" if you know the sites/files are safe, but you might want to check out where your mother surfing when the pop-ups appear ... ? I hope this helps. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  4. @Vabadus Thank you for your post. I have updated my Samsung phone to the latest version of Malwarebytes for Android. I found the setting that you mentioned. I will be backing up my phone at the end of week, and I will let you know if the problem is resolved. Thank you and have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  5. @Vabadus You told me on 2018-05-06 that you were planning a release "in 2 weeks". It is now June. Is there a new release with a "Pause Ransomware Protection" button? I can't find it and disabling the Ransomware Protection does nothing to alleviate this longstanding nuisance issue. An update would be appreciated. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  6. The latest CCleaner update also falls victim to this "bug". Turning off the Ransomware Protection allowed the update to install successfully. Submitted for your information. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  7. Thank you for that information. Actually I "accidentally" discovered this morning that you could just click on "Current" and it would initiate an update. And yes, there is still the right-click option to check for updates from the tray. All is good! Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  8. I have just updated to Version 3.5.1. I miss the ability to manually initiate an update. I always manually initiate updates for both my anti-virus and MBAM apps after bootup each day to ensure that when I venture out on the web, all protection app definitions are current. Other than that, the new version looks good to me. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  9. @Vabadus Thank you for your update. That is great news. I will forward to getting the update in two weeks. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  10. @Vabadus April has come and gone. Would you be so kind as to let me know when a "fix" for this longstanding issue will be released? Thank you and have a great weekend. Regards, -Phil
  11. @kirstenk There are no infected files being reported. You have the trial version of Malwarebytes Premium. The real-time web protection is alerting you that either you, or a redirection malware or program, is trying to open a website that Malwarebytes Premium states contains riskware, so it is blocking access to that site. If you know that the website is good, and there is no riskware there, then you should report it as a "false positive" in the appropriate Forum here; otherwise, I would stay away from that website. I hope this helps. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  12. @AntonioRodriguez You can only use Malwarebytes Premium licence keys with PCs. If you want Malwarebytes for Android Premium, you must pay for a subscription. I hope this helps. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  13. @Vabadus Thank you for your reply. I am really pleased to learn that there will finally be a fix in April. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  14. @dkilleen I don't have any apps on my micro SD card either. It only has some photos on it. It appears that when SmartSwitch is backing up the apps on the phone itself, it creates temporary files or somehow accesses the SD card, which triggers the MBA ransomware module. There are no ransomware warnings when the actual content (.jpg files) that I have stored on the micro SD card is backed up by SmartSwitch. I know that @Vabadus has analyzed this issue and he does know what is causing the false ransomware warnings. It seems that fixing the problem, is THE problem. I wonder if the Android group is sufficiently staffed ... ? For the price paid for a year's subscription, there should be adequate staff and expertise to remedy this nuisance issue in a reasonably timely manner. I don't think that putting up with this problem for six months and counting, is reasonable and acceptable customer service. Just my two cents. Have a great day, and thank you for your post. Regards, -Phil
  15. @dkilleen I am running the same version of SmartSwitch to back up my Samsung G386W smartphone. On occasion, I have not received any ransomware warnings, but 98% of the time, Malwarebytes for Android (MBA) reacts to the backup of the applications on the phone. It appears to be in some way related to the micro SD card that I have installed in the phone, because that is the path that MBA reports during the application phase of the backup. @Vabadus Thank you for the update. I am disappointed that this issue has still not been fixed six months after reporting it and providing Malwarebytes with all of the requested information and logs. It is even more disappointing that there is no scheduled release date now for a fix. I hope this issue is fixed before it is time for me to pay for renewal this coming August. Regards, -Phil
  16. @ikariwolf777 Forums! I have used Bitdefender Total Security and Malwarebytes Premium together for years. They work just fine together. The only advice that I would offer is to add the Malwarebytes executable files to the Bitdefender "Exclusions". Also, should you have to uninstall or repair Bitdefender, it is best to deactivate your Malwarebytes Premium licence, and uninstall it first. Once Bitdefender is reinstalled or repaired, then reinstall and activate your Malwarebytes Premium. Hope this helps. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  17. @Vabadus I have been patiently waiting since August 2017 for this nuisance issue to be fixed. Is there a target date for a fix on the horizon yet? Thank you and have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  18. I am also affected with no real time web protection. It just sticks at "Starting ..." when I try to turn it on. Started today for no reason. No changes to my computer configuration. Please fix this. Thank you and have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  19. @frodojrr I concur with @daman1. The interface between the chair and the keyboard is the greatest vulnerability, but security is all about "layers". I am very confident that BDTS and MBP will keep me protected from all but the most stupid of mistakes. That is why I run them both. They are both very good at what they do. There is some overlap, but for now, they each have individual capabilities that the other lacks. You might want to read this post about why MBP is not considered a full-fledged anti-virus computer security solution. You might also be interested in this post. That said, BDTS does not claim to address the malware programs, like adware, browser redirectors, etc., and such, at which MBP is so adept. This is just my two cents and does not reflect the opinion of either company. I have no connection to either company, other than being a "Trusted Advisor" on this Forum, and a member of the Bitdefender Forum. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  20. @frodojrr I have been running Bitdefender 2018 Total Security (and earlier versions) with Malwarebytes Premium 3 (and previous versions) for years now, without issues. I have added the recommended Malwarebytes executable files to the Bitdefender exclusion list. You should ensure that you have the latest build of both Bitdefender and Malwarebytes installed on your computer. While the potential does exist for conflicts, but Malwarebytes staff work very quickly, and well, with the major anti-virus vendors to remove the causes of any incompatibilities. I hope this helps. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  21. @Vabadus Thank you for the update. I will continue to wait patiently for a fix. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  22. @Vabadus Any update on this glitch? It is annoying. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  23. My website and email are hosted by JustHost.com. Today, when I tried to access my JustHost email account, Malwarebytes reported it as a malicious site. I finally just turned off the Web Protection to access my JustHost email, as the exclusions I set did not seem to work. MBP log is attached of the detection. Thank you and have a great day. Regards, -Phil justhost.txt
  24. @Dave77 Welcome to the Malwarebytes Forums! I am glad to hear that I am not alone experiencing this issue. Hopefully a new version will solve this nuisance problem. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
  25. @artgal No, you will not lose your lifetime licence. Just be sure to deactivate your current old version of Malwarebytes Premium before uninstalling it. When the new MBP Version 3.3.1 is installed, simply insert your lifetime licence key, and also click "I have an ID" and insert your ID key. That should activate your new version. Go to my account, and your licence should say "Never Expires." I hope this helps. Have a great day. Regards, -Phil
