I am a new user of Kaspersky. I have an open topic on their Forums about this undismissible Kaspersky warning. I have exceptions configured in both programs and have not experienced any issues. My Support complaint to Kaspersky to make the warning dismissible has been escalated to Kaspersky Tier 2 Support. I never had that problem with Bitdefender and Malwarebytes Premium that I ran together for over ten years.
From what I have read in their Forums, the warning was only recently modified so that it could not be dismissed.
I don't think it would be considered appropriate for me to link to my topic there in this Forum. I am using the same name there as here (garioch7), so you can "find" my content. There is not much content because I only replaced Bitdefender with Kaspersky on Monday. So far, so good.
Have a great day.

I am not talking about the Detection History. I am talking about the Scan Reports, which state "Scan Reports (Last 30 Days)".
Reports older than 30 days keep showing. I have to manually delete them individually.
Have a great day.

I upgraded my two computers to MBP 5.0 several weeks ago. I noted that the Scan History (Reports) is showing reports for scans done well over 30 days previously. This always worked great in 4.6.
I have manually deleted each scan report older than 30 days individually (there doesn't seem to be an option to bulk-delete them), but each time I scan (weekly), I have to manually delete the oldest report, which is more than 30 days old.
Is this just my computers running Windows 11 Pro, or have others noticed this anomaly?
Have a great day.

Phil

I just manually updated my MBP4 to MBP5 an hour ago. I have previously posted in the Malwarebytes 5 topic here that I dislike the VPN notice on the main GUI not being dismissable.
When my alternate purchased VPN product is turned on, the message remains that my connection is PUBLIC. Moreover, the IP address does not change to the VPN IP.
I understand that this is likely a marketing tactic, but is that notice not misleading to users who have and are using alternate VPN solutions? Should it just state that your connection is not secured by Malwarebytes VPN?
I don't want to cause a big stir, please, but a polite discussion and explanation would be welcome. Perhaps, the wording could be improved . . .
Thank you, and have a great day.

Thank you for your reply and the link to the offline Version 4 installer. I downloaded it, just in case. My hope is that by the time I am offered Version 5 via the usual "Check for Updates" in 4.6.9., the MBAM developers will have accepted the feedback to enable users to dismiss that advertisement from the main Version 5.x.x GUI. It is just a waste of space on the main GUI for those of us who already have a paid VPN product with which we are completely satisfied. One can live in hope . . .
Have a great day.

I have yet to have Version 5 appear via MBAM 4.6.9. updates. I have no desire to download Version 5 because I already have a VPN and don't want to be stuck looking at the Malwarebytes VPN "advertisement" on the main GUI. I reiterate the previous suggestions that users be able to remove or disable that VPN "advertisement."
Just my two cents. Have a great day.

As a longtime user of Malwarebytes Mobile Security (MMS), I have not noticed any significant battery usage on my several Samsung phones over the years. In fact, scans are far faster now with the newer versions of MMS than they were in the past. I highly recommend this product to my clients.
As phones age, so do their batteries. I am not familiar with that model of phone, but, if possible, does it log what apps are using the most power? It might be one or more apps that were installed after the phone was new that are consuming your battery if it is not an age-related issue.
Have a great day.

Thank you for your post. I had the same issue with this Windows Update. Exiting Malwarebytes Premium and preventing it from starting with Windows resolved the problem. Update installed flawlessly.
I found this topic over at ElevenForum, which led me here:

Thanks again, and have a great day.

I have been running Bitdefender Total Security and MB Premium for many years. No issues, as long as you configure the appropriate exclusions in each program so that they play nicely in the same sandbox. In my humble opinion, running the two together enhances my computer security. You have to install Bitdefender products first. Bitdefender is highly territorial and will not install if it finds any other security solutions on your computer, other than Windows Defender. MB Premium is happy to get installed if BD is present. Make sure that you turn off, in the MB Settings, "Always register with the Windows Security Centre."
Just my two cents. Have a great day.

Had the exact same problem today on my Desktop Dell XPS 8930 running Windows 11 Pro, fully updated. Running your file fixed it. What is happening? Only one of my two Dell computers was affected, both running Windows 10 Pro and MBAM Premium.
In any event, I am happy that the problem is resolved.
Thank you, and have a great weekend.

Thanks for the update. Perhaps Easeus is obfuscating their code to prevent others from copying it. I will be interested in your findings.
Have a great day.

Easeus is launching on the desktop now with MBAM enabled. MBAM scans of both the laptop and desktop are negative, as are full system scans by BD.
I am not much good at Event Logs. I would not know where to look without doing some research.
I have gone back to my last Easeus backup of 2023-02-03, restored that file, and uploaded the file to SendSpace. The link is: https://www.sendspace.com/file/rboflt
I just ran an SFC scan, and it came back clean.
All is working here, and I am about to turn off my computer. It is Friday evening here, and I have plans for the evening.
Thank you for your rapid and professional assistance. I would like to finally find out what caused the problem, but that can wait.
Have a great weekend, and thank you again.

The file is gone from SendSpace when I logged in. I have uploaded the version of the file from a Restore Point today, created just ten minutes before I tried to launch ETBH. The link is: https://www.sendspace.com/file/azus5m.
I always create a Restore Point just before launching my backup program on any given Friday. ETBH had not been used since 2023-02-03, so there should have been no updates or other modifications to its files.
This just keeps getting stranger, but I am out of ideas now.
Thank you, and have a great day.

Thank you for the suggestions. I have Shadow Explorer installed on my computers. I went to a Restore Point taken 2023-02-14 and exported the version of the file on that date on my desktop.
I notice immediately that this file is much smaller zipped than the other files I sent you, though the actual unzipped size is in the ballpark.
I uploaded the .exe file to my SendSpace account. Here is the link: https://www.sendspace.com/file/zq9ole
I will be interested in your findings, and yes, there should have been more complaints. All very strange.
Thank you, and have a great day.

Phil -
Thanks for your reply. It is curious that the files were the same . . . ? I only run ETBH every second Friday. In the alternate weeks, I run Macrium Reflect Home, so I have no idea when the FP started occurring. The 3rd of February was the last time I ran ETBH on both of my computers.
Have a great day.

Wonderful customer service. Was the older ETBH laptop file different from the new install file on my desktop?
Thank you, and have a great day.

blender,
I am attaching the file from my laptop. It runs the same version of ETBH as was on the desktop. I have not yet tried running ETBH on my laptop.
I am not sure what you mean by "just copy out the exe somewhere . . . " I will just quit MBAM before launching ETBH until this false positive is corrected.
Thank you, and have a great day.

blender:
Unable to attach the original file because after the restore from the MBAM Quarantine because when I tried to launch the Easeus Todo Backup Home (ETBH) program, it would issue a UAC, then try to start loading and just quit with no error message. Rebooting, quitting MBAM, etc., made no difference. I had to uninstall ETBH via Windows and reinstall it. I am attaching the zipped version of the requested file from my new desktop computer ETBH installation. I am sure that they are the same as the old one. I have been using ETBH for years now with no issues. No ETBH updates in the last month or so.
My desktop computer is a Dell XPS 8930 SE, running Windows 11 Pro, fully updated. Bitdefender Total Security (BDTS) is my anti-virus solution. Both MBAM and BDTS have the recommended exemptions so that they have played nicely in the same sandbox for many years.
I will be quitting MBAM on my laptop later today to avoid having to reinstall ETBH again on that computer (Dell XPS 15 7590).
Thank you, and have a great day.

Been using Easeus Todo Backup Home for many years. Today it got flagged as an RTP detection, log attached.
Thank you, and have a great day.

The new version just downloaded on both of my computers, so as of now the update has not been pulled.
Not sure what is going on.
Have a great day.

Software conflict - Malwarebytes-Kaspersky Plus
in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Posted · Edited by garioch7
@Porthos,
That is still the case. I removed my other AV product on Monday and then tried to install Kas Premium. The installer exited, just like the BD installer used to do, stating I could not install KP without uninstalling MBP. So, I uninstalled MBP and KP installed just fine. All of the KP features were active.
Then I went and reinstalled MBP, configured exceptions, and thought all was good, but then the KP version of "Trusted Advisor" started presenting me with a warning of incompatible software "MB3 and MB4" (I am running MB5) that cannot be dismissed or ignored. It just sits in your face. I did some research yesterday on the K Forums and found that K has a list of incompatible software apps that include MB products as well as every AV app. The warning originates from that list.
In KP, I don't get a "Skip" option, like @BeeGeemb shows in his post. I just get "Keep" and "Remove." When I select "Keep," the warning remains.
I have opened a K Support ticket, that is now escalated to Tier 2. I think we would agree that it is MY computer, so it should be MY choice if I want to run MBP alongside K. I should have the option to dismiss that warning in K. If that class of security products forces me to remove MBP to accomplish a new or repair installation, I can live with that. I am not happy about it, but it doesn't happen often that I have to reinstall my primary AV product. BUT I am definitely upset that "Mother K" is trying to dictate my computer security configuration to eliminate MBP. Even old "Mother BD" was not that territorial!
From what I have read, and for reasons I don't understand at all, K is also targeting MB Free as well as MBP, even with all real-time protection components disabled! Being unable to dismiss or ignore the warning apparently started around February of this year.
If you are interested, I can PM you updates about my progress, if any, in trying to resolve this issue with K. I am aware that discussing competitor products is not encouraged on this Forum for obvious reasons, so I will bow out now from this topic. Please PM me if you want PM updates.
Have a great day.

Phil
