  1. @MisterEd51 The reason I upgraded from ATI 2019 to ATI 2020, and subsequently to ATI 2024 and 2025 was for the very reason that the Full backup and incremental backups were all incorporated into one chain .tibx file. It made the backups much easier to organize. I believe the "Files / Folders" backups are organized the same as a full disk image backup with all the backups in one *.tibx file. I do scheduled daily disk image backups at 3:00 AM, with a Full backup on the 1st of the month followed by 30 incremental backups. I have the Validate the last backup checked so every backup is validated at completion. I know that the Full and incremental backups are dependent on each other but I have no experience with one of them becoming corrupt. If one of the incremental backups becomes corrupted, I am not sure how that affects the chain. Does that corrupt incremental backup corrupt the whole chain as you imply? Possibly, but I do not know that for sure. Also, I normally clean the chains older than two months. This daily backup is stored on my second internal SSD. I also schedule a Full image backup to an external drive on the 1st of the month with 6 incremental backups. By doing the incremental backups, my drive is not filled up with Full images. The Malwarebytes beta update corrects all of the issues with Acronis backups.
  2. I think it depends on whether you used a schedule to do your backups. I tried several test backups using a schedule with a incremental scheme. Drive image backups and folders and files backups resulted in the same outcome which was a Full backup followed immediately by the number of incremental backups and only paused briefly between them. When they had completed there would be a red "X" on the backup with a message that the backup had failed. This update from Malwarebytes resolves all the backup issues with Acronis. Oh, and the backups flagged as having failed were actually validated as good.
  3. Thank you Lisa for the kind words. I, along with other Acronis users, appreciate everyone's efforts to resolve this issue.
  4. The engineering team has found the source of the problem! A fix will be forthcoming soon. There is only one file that requires replacing. Lisa, Thank you for that information. I have been working with support to test the resolution and determined that it, in fact, corrected the problem. I just sent them the results of my testing. Good Job! Geo
  5. I was contacted by Jason Y. (support) earlier this afternoon with instructions to upload the Malwarebytes event logs. I completed the upload as instructed. My support ticket number is 4687130. Two of us have posted on on Reddit r/Acronis regarding this issue and have trouble tickets with them as well. They are also working on a resolution and I am certain one will be forthcoming soon.
  6. Recently upgraded my backup software to Acronis True Image 2025. The backups do not run correctly and indicate a failed status. If I quit Malwarebytes Premium and then run the backup, it completes successfully without issue. This problem is new to the 2025 version of Acronis. The previous version did not experience this problem.
  7. Hello Elizabeth. Thisisu worked with me several times to correct this problem on my Windows XP sp3 desktop. He sent me an email asking me to try the latest version, which on 11/17/15 was version 8.0.0. I downloaded the new version and it ran flawlessly to completion. Thisisu is the creator of JRT, which is now part of Malwarebytes. It took him over two months to finally have the time to fix this little tool so it would again run on my machine. If you have tried using the latest version of JRT and it won't run for you, try clicking on thisisu's picture, and then click on the button to send him a personal message regarding your issue. He is very responsive and will interact with you personally to remedy you specific issue with JRT. That's his baby and he very much wants to support it. I would say also that 360 Total Security is probably not a good option. I recently had to remove it from a client's system because of adware/malware. I highly recommend VIPRE Internet Security based out of Clearwater, FL, or Emisoft. These are US based companies and their products out perform Norton or McAfee products. As far as JRT running, any of the antivirus programs could interfere and you may have to disable them temporary. JRT 8.0.0 ran fine with my VIPRE Internet Security running though. This is a nice little tool and I hope you can get it to run on your system soon.
  8. I downloaded the debug program and ran it. This time the dos window only showed a few lines...it appeared to be stalled and then terminated closing the window. The debug.txt file was created on the desktop. I will just attach the entire file for your review. JRT_DEBUG.txt
  9. I have had issues with JRT completing it's scan on two different Windows XP systems recently. I have been working with thisisu on the problem but as of yet we have had no luck. Wondering if any one else is having issues using JRT on the older Windows XP systems? I have never had a problem until just lately.
  10. MrC, very much appreciate all your help resolving my issue - laptop runs better than new :D

  11. The securiy program ran but an error appeared so I tired to reboot and run it a second time...same little error box came up but then the program continued. 12. Oops...forgot to post the fixlog.txt file for you. Fixlog.txt
  13. Hurray!!! MrC yor ARE the man! FF and IE8 are both working perfectly now. Because I am very much interested in how this was accomplished, I would like to know how you use the log files from these programs to create the "fixlist.txt" file used to remedy the problem. Remember, I work on these beasts too? I still have the desktop with the very same hijacking issue to repair yet. Could I possibly repair the desktop myself, or would I need to get back to you for help doing it? I have no clue how much time was involved for you to help me solve this problem on the laptop. I definately want to make a donation to you I know there will be some cleanup left to do on this so I will await your reply.
  14. BTW... nice family. Looks like a yellow laby and golden. Here are some new FRST files following the IObit software uninstall. FRST.txt Addition.txt
  15. Okay MrC. I have uninstalled ALL of the IObit software completely. Where do we go from here?
  16. Good afternoon MrC. Thank you for your continued support. I do appreciate your time and effort. To reiterate, this is a close friend's laptop which I maintain for him as well as his desktop. Actually, this hijacker did not began with the install of IObit ASC. I have used ASC to tune up the computers I have worked on for over a year. This laptop has had it installed and been in use for probably close to a year also. I use ASC on my own machines too. I am beginning to think maybe ASC is not the utillity I shoud be using for this purpose. I did some research and found too that using any of the registry cleaners, which would include ASC', is not a good thing to be doing....ouch. This laptop, and also his desktop, became infected with this hijacker about 1-2 weeks ago. I did not realize he actually had malware doing this. I thought that he was just able to set his homepage correctly in IE and FF. I went to his house this week to do some tuning for him and that's when I discovered that they both were infected. Because IObit shovels freeware to it's customers, I think the infection may have come from an install of IObit Malware Fighter, or Driver Booster, both of which were on his computers. I did not install them so I am assuming he must have clicked on a button he should not have, and here we are.... I ran the FRST.exe program again. Here are the log files: FRST.txt Addition.txt
  17. Sorry MrCharlie...no cigar. This thing just won't go away. Both IE8 and FF are being hijacted. I reset both FF and IE8 but when I reopened them...there it was again :'(
  18. Well...sorry to say, but that nasty hikacker is still hijacking both IE8 and FF I did run the "fixlist.txt" and it completed okay. Fixlog.txt
  19. The quest goes on... AdwCleanerS3.txt JRT.txt FRST.txt Addition.txt
  20. Hello MrCharlie, thanks for helping me resolve this. It is really bugging my that I am not able to rid this. I just ran Malwarebytes yesterday and it found 21 PUPs and removed them. That is why it did not find any today. mbam-log-2014-02-28 (18-56-57).txt RKreport0_S_02282014_193017.txt
  21. Hello...PLEASE HELP! I have been working to remedy this issue of Yahoo hijackng the homepage and the search engine on this laptop for hours with no resolve. I am retired, and working on computers is my hobby. I help several friends with their computer problems. I have exhausted every attemp at fixing this and it just keeps coming back. This nasty thing has infected my friends laptop, as well as his desktop. This will be a learning experience for me and I will gladly compensate whomever chooses to accept the challenge of helping me rid these systems of this malware. dds.txt attach.txt
