  1. Sounds like a good idea herd protect if it doesn't slow traffic down to much.
  2. Thanks for the reply's The reason i was wavering on scam or not a scam is it's a registered company and the vat number is valid. Think I will leave it though like you say to good to be true. Thanks all

  4. Mad scientist injects himself with 35 million year old bacteria pretty interesting, he must be slightly nuts to do this. https://motherboard.vice.com/read/meet-the-scientist-who-injected-himself-with-35-million-year-old-bacteria
  5. Cheers Pondus that is just what I've been looking for, appreciate the info thank you
  6. I think every antivirus has its good times and bad well from my very limited knowledge and from observing the various reports online over the small time I've been watching. They come into favor and then bang suddenly are bottom of the pile. I get very confused reading about av's. One site will say don't pay its not worth it free is as good as paid and yet another will say pay. We have one pc with paid and one running free yet they always seem to go down at the same time lol. I always wonder why an av company hasn't made a subscription router that has a built in vpn and secure dns with a voondaba firewall and some sort of monitored firewall on the look out for new attacks ect , I'd pay for that. In fact I'd trade the mother in law for that lol
  7. Speccy might be what your looking for. https://www.piriform.com/speccy Not sure about an uninstaller sorry.
  8. Why does ksnapshot.etl a linux screen capture program is what i found out about it keep trying to run on my pc? any ideas on why and what it is if not a linux screen capture program I've looked long and hard about it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  9. I had a go with cyber ghost the free version with no loss of speed or adverts, you do though have to wait for about a minute at busy time's to join, that said its not bad.
  10. Thanks for your help. I wasn't sure as I know its not good to send stuff like passwords in an email as they can easily be captured along the line thanks again Paul
  11. I'm still trying to get an error for one copy of my malwarebytes to stop and the program to work and have been asked for my product codes is this OK and safe to send?
  12. Try this http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-windows-8-a.html you may need to run sfc scan a few times before it works
  13. both pc's locked up completely on the same day with the exact same symptoms including all restore points gone seems odd to me. 1 in a million maybe odd, I'm far from being even a novice user of computers so do correct me if I am wrong. Thank you
  14. But that wouldn't have made everything else go funny would it on both systems?
  15. I've seen the disk tray thing before it's just a small bit of annoying code that opens your disk tray at set intervals like this http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/cd-tray-continuously-popping mse sounds like it will detect and delete it. Have a look on virus total about zemana which i have never herd of and I'm always looking at security software and for new stuff to try. https://www.virustotal.com/en/url/bbc88f4e96aa38515c17bd96d7b210ba6606b66d8a6000e3949edf765919a08b/analysis/1475341564/
  16. On both machines I should have said... again most suspect in my eyes
  17. I did have to fix it a while ago but since this problem it hasn't been working again and all the restore points have vanished.
  18. No change at all in the results. The thing that made me suspect something unscrupulous was the fact that both machines went on the same day both became 100% unresponsive and have similar issues I found that result's very odd that they both had exact same issue in the event viewer as well. I would understand if just one went but both with exactly the same issue seemed to rare an event, both using different av's and only malware bytes in common and the os seemed a tad to convenient.
  19. Sorry I didn't answer that bit yes the other computer is old also running vista 32 bit. I just found it odd they both went on the same day with exactly the same symptoms, one not used much and the other used a lot.
