  1. I have cleaned this virus twice in the past three days from 2 different machines, and you wont believe how...... Download the Microsoft malicious software removal tool and run a full scan, it will take a couple hours but in the end it will find it and remove it, you will be prompted to reboot afterwards and boom your done! http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...b3-75b8eb148356
  2. Hi MBAM folks. I have a problem after removing antivirus 7, MBAM removed the rogue software just fine but afterwards there seems to be a browser redirector still lingering. Ive found several sites that all give the same recomendation but none work. Any ideas? I have checked the internet options, proxy settings, hosts file, and dns settings, all of which are normal. tried following the below instructions found on other sites bur all the referenced files and reg keys are already gone. please help. Terminate Websiteblockonline.com associated processes: Antivirus7.exe Unins000.exeDelete Websiteblockonline.com related files and folders: %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Start Menu\AV %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Start Menu\AV\Antivirus7.lnk %Documents and Settings%\All Users\Start Menu\AV\Uninstall.lnk %Documents and Settings%\[userName]\Desktop\Antivirus7.lnk %Program Files%\AV %Program Files%\AV\Antivirus7.exe %Program Files%\Common Files\Uninstall %Program Files%\Common Files\Uninstall\AV %Program Files%\Common Files\Uninstall\AV\Uninstall.lnk %Program Files%\Antivirus7AV %Program Files%\Antivirus7AV\Antivirus7.exe %Program Files%\Antivirus7AV\unins000.dat %Program Files%\Antivirus7AV\unins000.exe %WINDOWS%\system32\UpdateCheck.dllRemove Websiteblockonline.com registry keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\EVAACD HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{35A5B43B-CB8A-49CA-A9F4-D3B308D2E3CC} Helper Objects\{35A5B43B-CB8A-49CA-A9F4-D3B308D2E3CC} HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  3. where can i find a description of the MBAM "Technician License"?
  4. thanks guys, since its forthcoming I can wait. hopefully it will come in march so I can add it to out project results report and convince my supiriors to go enterprise wide with this software.
  5. Hi, may be a repost but i couldnt find anything on this. I finally convinced my boss to purchase some coorporate licenses for this awesome product. we have 200 license now and i really need to return some good data to him after 3 months of useing it, help desk calls, recalls, etc. so that I can convince him to buy 1000 more to cover the entire enterprise. here is my only issue with the program, the update once a day shcedule, if the system is not on and connected to the internet, it will skip the daily update. since most of our users are laptop users, there is about a 50/50 chance of it getting updated properly on the once a day check, and of course if it gets far enough behind it becomes quite vulnerable to the nasty stuff. so i have 2 questions. 1. can the program itself be changed in a future release to allow updates more than once per day, or even better, have it listen for a connection to the update servers and update upon connect? 2. is there an .exe or a cmd line string that i could place on our systems event scheduler to check for and install updates?
  6. ALT + F4 works well also to close any active window. Often times the "X", "Close", or "No Thanks", etc. button will be programmed to install the nastie program.
  7. did you try booting to safe mode and running it? If you can boot to "safe mode with networking" that is even better because you can install MBAM and then update it before running the scan.
  8. Try this, and who deleted my post? if linking is not allowed I'm sorry! installed malware bytes on a known infected computer and left "update" and "launch mbam" checked at the end and clicked finish. It just hung for a long time and locked up. rebooted and when it came back up I launched the program and immediately recieved Runtime Error '440': Automation Error followed by VbAccelerator SGrid II Control error and after clicking ok to both the program haults. Looked in add/remove to remove and re-install but mbam is not there. installed over the top(without uninstalling) but recieved similar errors durring the install. rebooted and of course the same original errors come up when the program is launched. i went into c:/program files/malware bytes anti malware folder and ran unins000.exe, this is the core uninstaller. rebooted and installed the program again with no errors. rebooted again and ram mbam to remove tons of nasties
