  1. Tried installing to latest version and it downloaded o.k, then malwarebytes closed. Checked version to be 1.46 but current database version is showing 4/29/10 Todays date is 5/3/10 Maybe this will rectify after re-boot as I did not get a reboot message, possibly because I am logged in as a standard user. I usually surf the internet with standard account, and just use Admin pass to download updates. Will check back tomorrow if no change after re-boot.
  2. Problem seems to be sorted now, I could not update because I forgot I needed to use Admin priveleges to update. The function was blanked out. As for the problems connecting to this forum, it must have been a router issue I guess, although I have not seen anyone else post that they were having issues. Anyway I'm going to do as you suggest as I noticed my anti-virus and my free version of super-anti spyware scan around 47,000 files on my PC while Malwarebytes only scans around 29,000, I dont know whether this is normal, or whether malwarebytes is failing to do a full scan, as it just say scan completed successfully or whatever so I guess it must be o.k.
  3. Earlier today I tried to reach this forum, after getting error code on trying to update, but it said server not found, now I find the update function in malwarebytes is disabled. I dont know how this has happened. How do I re-enable it?
  4. So have you tried to remove this Trojan? I'm presuming you have and it is re-appearing each time you restart your computer. If this is the case have you tried scanning in safe mode and removing it whilst in safe mode? Maybe worth trying if you havent. I just had a Backdoor trojan which non of my other securtiy software detected except malwarebytes, and it could only be removed in safe mode. It is gone now, but until I used safe mode it just kept re-appearing.
  5. So many threads created on one topic seems to suggest that people do not read and seek advice before creating a new thread for help. One thread should be all that is needed for the issue of Error code 732, but it seems people are blind.
  6. It has already been explained this issue on the other thread, if you try again later you should be able to download o.k. Pity did not seek advice before uninstalling and re-installing, as you would have found out that this is only a temporary problem. Always get advice before jumping the gun.

Yes same problem here, I was concerned because Malwarebytes found a backdooor trojan the other day that could only be removed in safe mode, and was not detected by Norton 360 or superanti spyware. This being the first time I have tried to update since removing the trojan, I thought it had damaged malwarebytes somehow. Anyway a big thanks for providing a program that has proved itself a valuable asset to my internet security. Hope updates will be available soon as I want to do another scan with latest database version.
  8. Norton prevents malwarebytes from accessing certain Norton files, it does this with any software that behaves like malewarebytes, it does the same with Super-anti-spyware. Norton should not however be continuosly detecting mbam.exe as suspicious, if it is there is a problem. I use Norton 360 and I do not get this.
  9. Yardbird thanks for your help, I think I may of solved the problem of updating. When I first downloaded malwarebytes I downloaded as standard windows account user. When I realised malwarebytes was not installed for Admin account I downloaded it again. Yesterday while I was logged in as Admin I tried to update and windows asked for permission for me download the update, I allowed it and it updated correctly. I believe when I initially downloaded malwarebytes when logged in as standard user, I was asked for permission for update to be installed, and everything was alright after that it seems until I installed malwarebytes for Admin account. I thought malwarebytes would just automatically install for all user accounts on one computer, but it appears not, so I think I will probably be best to delete the malwarebytes installed for standard user account. I got another internet security forum to look at my hijack this log and they say it appears O.K
  10. As I've already got malwarebytes anti malware and ran scans that show no infection, I'm presuming you want me to use hijack this and post the log to this thread. Can you please clarify this.
  11. 2297, what I'm saying is that the definitions download, but when I check they are the same definitions as before. I've been trying to update for a while and always end up with the same definitions. I have even uninstalled the program properly clearing all traces of malwarebytes anti-malware then downloaded the program again and tried the update but still get the same problem. This problem is only solved by installing the offline definitions, but they of course are not updated daily. Current database information: Date: 6/17/2009 Database version 2297 Finger prints loaded 102458 Since re-install I have not checked to see what the current offline database definitions are at. I suspect I will be able to get a more up to date definitions database if I download and install it, but I don't want to be checking everyday to see what the current offline database is at. Something is clearly wrong with the update function or something is preventing the definitions being installed via the update function, yet it appears downloading the offline database and installing manually is not a problem, or it certainly wasn't before.
  12. I am still getting problems, I have just downloaded definitions and it says it has gone from 2297 to 2297 so clearly there is still a problem.
  13. Well I'm still getting this problem the database wont change. It appears no one else is experiencing this problem. What I want to know is if it is a good idea to uninstall the program then try re-installing. There is obviously a problem here.
