  1. 'I'm referring to disc data/usage, not RAM usage'....you mean in Task Manager...Resource Monitor? Just checked that...found in the Overview tab MBAMService 104 threads, CPU tab...same thing, memory tab...1,623,012 KB, Disk tab...total B/sec 2087, network tab...none there.
  2. According to task manager the 3 Nero Home exe's are only using 5060 K, 5752 K, and 8080 K. Unless there's another Nero program running, but NOT called Nero? I have 'show processes from all users' checked.
  3. As I'm not ready to reboot at this time(I have programs running in the background), I'm searching for 'mbst-check-results.txt', and if not found, will reboot later, and post back.
  4. What are the other files names? I can look for those.
  5. Found them in C:/FRST/logs....attached. Addition_31-01-2020 10.06.43.txt FRST_31-01-2020 10.06.43.txt
  6. search still running. I checked "show hidden files, folders and drives" and unchecked the option "Hide protected operating system files"...all that did was show two 'ini' files.
  7. This has happened to me before, when I used to run the frst and zip logs manually, my system would not put them on the desktop(rights issues?, display all files not set right?), and I would find them on my C drive...but I can't remember where on C. Search still running......
  8. No other 3rd party antivirus is running, and I got the 'Gather Logs' box, and clicked the 'OK'....search still in progress.
  9. Ran the logs, but it didn't create the desktop file, I am searching my C drive for it now
  10. My PC(Win 7, 64bit, 16GB RAM) has been 'sluggish'(mouse moves jerky, audio and video 'sputters') for about a week. I just noticed in Task Manager that MBAMService.exe is using 1,582,976 K of memory...is this normal? If not, how much memory should it take, and what should I do to fix this? Malwarebytes Premium 4.0.4.49 update package version 1.0.18498 Component package version 1.0.810 Thanks!
  11. Thanks for the additional info...from my research into 5 or 6 different computer/security forums, that seems to be the consensus. I'm also very careful on what I click on...even won't open email attachments from my 'friends', or 'family'(hovering over the 'from' address tells me otherwise) . And my Chrome browser with WOT, Disconnect Me, Ghostery, ScriptSafe, and HTTPS Everywhere keeps me safe online. As I don't mind the occasional 'permission pop-up', I'll just keep my standard account with elevated to the max UAC.. Thanks Again!
  12. Fair enough. I was just trying to get the opinion of someone who probably has more tech experience than I do. I will do some research on this. Thanks for all your help!
  13. So, using a admin account is more secure/less likely to be infected?
  14. Can you tell me your opinion, and why using the standard, or admin is better? Just curious.....
  15. I always use the standard account, as I understand it's more secure? For #2) above I mis-typed, it should have read 'switched into an admin account and ran the logs, attached' So, I was still in safe mode, in the admin account, when running the logs.
  16. Yes, ran FRST in Safe Mode (with Networking). Yes, already booted back to my standard account, and did a threat scan...found 0. Is this the most current version? Malwarebytes version:3.3.1.2183Component package:1.0.262Update package:1.0.3688
  17. I already did the following, then saw your last post Just did the following: 1) Booted into safe mode, and found that real time protection, Malware and Ransom-ware were turned off, and would not turn on. Ran the threat scan, found 0, attached. 2) Reboot into an admin account and ran the logs, attached. 3) Rebooted back into a standard accound, and tried opening Malwarebyte...and it came up! All the protections that were turned off in safe mode, are on now. Ran another threat scan, found nothing. 4) Ran an 'check for updates'...got the spinning mouse icon, and it opened the Malwarebytes 'About' tab. Is this the most current version?: Malwarebytes version:3.3.1.2183 Component package:1.0.262 Update package:1.0.3688 I'm not sure why it's working now, and not before. Can you leave this post open for about a week? I will open and run the program every day...if it continues to work, then I guess it's OK. Let me know if you find anything 'fishy' in my logs. Thanks for all your help. mb-check-results.zip Malwarebytes safemode threat scan 1-13-18.txt
  18. The program I'm running is almost done. I'll post back when I have more info.
  19. The logs are not 'admin run'? I right clicked the 'FRST64.exe' and ran it as 'admin'....that's what I did the last time you helped me...about a year ago.
  20. I'm in the middle of running a program right now, so I can't re-boot into safe mode now. Attached are logs run under admin. Let me know if you still need me to re-boot in safe mode, and try rootkit scan. It will be tomorrow before my program is done. mb-check-results.zip
  21. Should I try this now, or wait for you to analyze the logs?
  22. No, not yet. I did your post, as that's the first one I saw.
