  1. You guys kept it quiet. I have just found that Malwarebytes Browser Guard provides XSS protection. I had been using Netcraft because XXS protection is on its options list (just that item being checked). Netcraft is now disabled. You should be shouting "XSS PROTECTION!" over the rooftops. 🤣
  2. I cannot add custom shields to Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit 1.13.1.516. Has this behaviour been introduced intentionally by Malwarebytes or is it a bug? Also, if a custom shield is removed, it cannot be reinstated.
  3. Does Application Behaviour Protection apply to older versions of Microsoft Office? I use Office 2003.
  4. I have just had my hands on a couple of Windows laptops (10 and 8.1) after last seeing them on April 7th 2022. They were still running MBAE 1.13.1.443 and the advanced setting for Automatically upgrade to new versions was set on each machine. I can verify that MBAE 1.13.1.476 is able to automatically upgrade to new versions.
  5. Automatic version updates do work.
  6. Thanks Bob. MBARW works fine in its latest version. It's the first time I have noticed the installed MBARW not being the current version, hence my post.
  7. I have just downloaded and run the MBARW installer on a Windows 7 x64 installation and the result is MBARW Beta v0.9.19.73-1.1.459. UPDATE: MBARW has just automatically updated to MBARW Beta v0.9.20 - 1.1.468. There is now no issue.
  8. MBAE 1.13.1.476 seems to work properly. I have not yet noted any undesirable behaviour and so consider this new version satisfactory. The new features are welcome.
  9. This new version does not seem to install automatically. It does install manually with no problems. I have another complaint which is that the MBAE installation files are UNsigned. This longtime issue causes me to lose the protection that NoVirusThanks OSArmor provides against executing unsigned files. I do not seem able to manage the exceptions properly (must get some more brain cells).
  10. Does this VBE7 Object Abuse protection actually matter? Otherwise, what is the point of it being a feature of MBAE?
  11. Some incarnations of MBAE 1.13.1.443 (and recent previous versions) have this enabled but others, for no apparent reason, disable it. Why? Protection for Office VBE7 Process Abuse is always enabled.
  12. I have been made aware that MBAE 1.13.1.407 deactivated Java shield. What happens when Java is unknowingly installed on a system?
  13. Problem solved I have found that uninstalling MBAE 1.13.1.430 and deleting the C:\ProgramData\Mallwarebytes Anti-Exploit folder followed by installing MBAE 1.13.1.345 SEEMS to solve the problem. MBAE 1.13.1.345 immediately gets updated to MBAE 1.13.1.430 but the previously persistently deactivated Java shield survives a system restart, being found to be still activated.
  14. The update of MBAE to 1.13.1.430 makes no difference to the Java shield issue.
  15. This issue has also been found on my spare Windows 10 21H2 Toshiba C50 laptop. I suggest therefore that this problem is more prevalent than might be thought. The Java shield is not immediately apparent, it being necessary to scroll the list to check it for a deactivated Java shield. Other MBAE users are possibly unaware if this. Installed software, particularly security software, is standard for my Windows PCs/laptops. I can presently report that 4 systems have active MBAE Java shields and 2 have self-deactivated MBAE Java shields.
  16. Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit 1.13.1.400 Release Notes states "MBAE-899: Java shield disabled under protected applications." Obviously this issue has not been completely fixed. I have run dds.com and attach the resulting dds.txt and attach.txt files. dds.txt attach.txt
  17. MBAE 1.13.1.424 - Java shield (java.exe) automatically deactivates at each MBAE start. I activate Java shield and it remains activated only until MBAE is shutdown and then restarted. This only happens on one of my four Windows 10 Pro systems. There is no such problem on the other three. All other shields remain activated at all times. The same security software runs on each of the four.
  18. I have working Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 systems and Firefox ESR 78.15.0 works decently on them all. The advent of MBAE 1.13.1.415 has caused one very odd behaviour which is that it cripples BitDefender Free (both Windows 8.1 and 10). The system tray BD icon turns grey and Windows complains that the antivirus is not running. The previous MBAE 1.13.1.407 version did not do this. Isn't that a clue to the cause of the problem with MBAE 1.13.1.415?
  19. MBAE 1.13.1.415 causes BitDefender Free to cease protecting both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Windows issues a notice that no antivirus is in operation.
  20. Maybe I asked the wrong questions. 1. Why is MBAE dynamic anti-heapspraying enforcement deactivated when BitDefender Free is installed and in use? 2. Does it actually matter if dynamic anti-heapspraying enforcement is deactivated?
  21. MBAE seems to have got tangled in two BitDefender files called atcuf32.dll and atcuf64.dll. That's my impression at least. Wndows 10's own anti-exploit features include heap spray protection.
