  1. Update: Sorry, I forgot protocol after working on this for a few days and didn't read the stickies. I've just gone through the procedure for finding and eliminating a CLB Rootkit infection with RootRepeal and can now run MBAM. I think I'll be fine from here. Sorry for the wasteful post!
  2. My desktop computer is infected with what appears to be several things. I've cleaned up some of them manually, though whatever is remaining is preventing MBAM from running, even if I change the filename of the .exe file. I've run HijacThis (had to change the name of that one to make it work, shows as HowdyJoeThick.exe in the following log). Here's the logfile it generated: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 9:46:22 PM, on 6/16/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16827) Boot mode: Safe mode Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe D:\Spyware Doctor\pctsAuxs.exe D:\Spyware Doctor\pctsSvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Iexplore.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntvdm.exe E:\Downloads\HowdyJoeThick.exe R0 -
