  1. That simply turns off real-time protection, but does not actually revert the program into its free mode. The Windows version lets you totally revert into the free version so that you do not get any purchase/upgrade reminders, and so it also shows "Free" in the program rather than "Trial" (again, would be nice to avoid confusion).
  2. Hello, one feature that is in the Windows version of Malwarebytes and not Malwarebytes for Mac is the ability to disable the trial/premium protection that activates upon install. Currently one just has to wait until the trial expires to revert to free protection. As someone who recommends Malwarebytes to any of my friends/acquaintances when they need malware removed, it was nice on Windows computers to allow the disabling of the trial after install for those who know they will not want to pay/cannot afford to pay for the premium protection, etc. It would just be a nice feature to see added to help avoid some confusion when the trial ends of "am I still protected?", "Do I need to buy this?", etc. Thanks!
  3. Adwcleaner appears to detect C:\Program Files (x86)\Vipre Business Agent and at least attempts to remove it. Given that this is a valid antivirus programs though, please remove it from your detection.
  4. I am currently beta testing the new VIPRE Advanced Security 10.1.0.251 beta, and had been running their latest, non-beta software previously, along with MBAM 3.0.6. I checked the beta update flag within Vipre, it prompted me for the upgrade to the beta, I started the installer and stepped away. When I came back, I was at a black screen and had to force reboot. I then logged back in, quit MBAM completely, and tried the install again--and it worked just fine without MBAM running. I can't say that MBAM is what was causing the issue without a doubt, but wanted to make you aware that there may be conflicts between the new VIPRE agent and MBAM.
  5. I posted in Kaspersky's forums, but have yet to hear back from any moderator/staff member. It is definitely some sort of conflict between MBAE and KIS 2016 as they both run fine on their own, just not together.
  6. Hello, I just installed the update for Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 and I also have MBAE Free installed. I added exclusions in KIS 2016 for the entire MBAE program files folder and also listed all its services as trusted applications. For some reason, even after doing that it will not open any web browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome). If I stop MBAE's protection, I am able to open all browsers. This is replicable on two computers that I have KIS 2016. I don't know if this is an issue with KIS 2016 or with MBAE but I thought I'd let you know.
  7. Hello, I have been using the most recent version of MBAM Pro recently and love it, but recently my OS (Windows 8.1 Update 1) was telling me that Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) was not functioning--not the antivirus, antispyware, or firewall. So, I uninstalled KIS, restarted, and attempted to reinstall KIS, except when I opened the setup file, nothing happened and my CPU usage went through the roof. After trying this a few more times after restarting I decided to uninstall MBAM Pro and see what happened (I had already tried just disabling the malware protection and IP protection) and what do you know! After uninstalling MBAM Pro and restarting, I could install KIV again! Anyway, I just wanted to post this somewhere so that hopefully it could get resolved in case others run into this issue. If anyone needs more info, just let me know. P.S. I had set exclusions for the KIV folder in MBAM Pro and MBAM folder in KIV.
  8. I mean, once a day would be ideal, but compared to the 3 1/2 months that it was currently out of date, anything is an improvement.
  9. I've been re-downloading the downloadable version every once and awhile recently to see if it gets updated---and it has! It is now using definitions from 7 days ago (Dec. 4th). I'm glad to see it was updated and hopefully it is something that can get updated at least monthly, if not even more frequently. Anyway, thanks so much for looking into it!
  10. I was just reporting that it is out of date. I understand that there is a way to transfer the definitions, I just wanted to make sure that the Malwarebytes Staff were aware. It is a nice service to be able to use/offer to people...so it would be nice if it wasn't four months out of date (I know I use it every once and awhile).
  11. Hello, I just checked to see if the link had been updated and it is now 101 days out of date. Is this still being looked into?
  12. Err. You said that you had posted the correct link to the manual download of definitions. The link that you gave me is the same link that is located on the website that I gave you--it is outdated by 85 days. I don't expect it to up to date...but three months old seems a little ridiculous. Is there a way it could get updated at least monthly if not weekly?
  13. Hello, I frequently help friends/relatives/my church out with their tech issues, and sometimes use the manual MBAM definitions download to update Malwarebytes if their internet connection isn't working. I recently tried doing this, and the manual definitions download link has definitions that are 84 days old (as of today). Underneath it says that the link should be updated weekly, and if it isn't to post in the forums about it...hence I am posting in the forums about it. Here is the link to where I try to download the definitions: http://malwarebytes.gt500.org/. (The bottom link is for the definitions download) Is there a way to make sure that link is update weekly? (I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses it at times) or is there a different link to use? Thanks for your help!
