  1. Hi all, I use Ccleaner and the additional winapp2.ini enhancement, every element that could be cleaned by Ccleaner has a check box next to it that has to be clicked to include it in the cleaning routine (it's opt in not opt out). It would be foolish to click an option for inclusion without knowing exactly what will be deleted. Regards.
  2. Hi shindo, The threat scan is the new name for the old quick scan. Flash scan → Hyper Scan Quick scan → Threat scan Full scan → Custom scan I hope this helps. Regards.
  3. Hi, I'm also running KIS2014, latest MBAM and latest MBAE (Windows 7 64) without any issues. Mutual exeptions have been setup in both KIS2014 and MBAM.
  4. Thanks for the speedy response and fix.
  5. Hi, I just ran a threat scan and it found a Trojan, I reverted to a backup from 24 hour ago, and ran the scan again and it was clean. Once I had run an updated on the MBAM definitions and run the scan the same file was found as a trojan again. The file is a setup file for easy display manager a utility program from Samsung that controls sound and Brightness levels on my laptop via a hot key sequence. This is a standard utility that is supplied with Samsung laptops. Can you please confirm that this is a false positive (scan log and file attached) and add it to the database. Thank you. Scan_Log.txt setup.zip
  6. Hi, I had MBAM self protection enabled, it didn't bock instalation of MBAE 0.10.3.0100 fo me. Everything seems to be running fine.
  7. Sorry ment to say "Office 2010" in my previous post. Nearly at 100 posts, I'll be able to edit soon.
  8. Hello everyone, I have just downloaded MBAE 0.10.3.0100 and installed over the top of the previous version, so far no problems. I can also confirm that Office 2000 starter edition (cloud version) for Excel and Word are now protected by the shield. Thank you to everyone involved.
  9. Hello Mieke, Thank you so much for the time you have taken for your detailed explanation. I didn't understand what debugger was before, but now thanks to your clear concise explanation I now fully comprehend. From what you have said I have decided to go with option 3, quarantine and delete the effected keys. I think that is the safest option and the effect on TuneUp will be negligible. Once again thank you very much. Kind regards.
  10. Hi, Sorry for the late reply, 1. so are you saying that these entries are legitimate from Tuneup? 2. If I add them to the ignore list will that also ignore any malware using the same method? 3. If I were to quarantine then delete these items, do you know what effect it would have on tuneUp? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  11. Hello, I have just installed TuneUp Utilities 2014 from their official site. I ran a scan immediately after and it found two registery entries and values that it says are browser hijacks, I'm quite sure these are false positives, will someone please confirm if that is the case. If they are FP would you be able to your database so they won't be detected in future. Any help and assistance will be greatly appreciated. I've included the scan log: mbam_scan_log.txt
  12. Hi AdvancedSetup, Here is the screen shot you requested.
  13. Hi AdvancedSetup, I did a clean install of the new beta and It's still not fixed for me either, although there was no mention of it being fixed in the release notes. Regards.
  14. Hi master721, I was having simillar problems to you, but installing the new Beta as mentioned by "AdvancedSetup" in the post above solved all my problems. Please also see my post https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=147168 Kind regards.
  15. Hello Gulliver, I was having similar problems to you, but installing the new beta as mentioned by "AdvancedSetup" in the post above solved all my problems. Please also see my post https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=147168 Kind regards.
  16. Yes, MBAM version 2.0.1.1004 is out, I've just updated.
  17. Hello Kaine, Thanks for the advice, I had already disabled SimExFlow mitigation in EMET for my affected applications, Deep Hooks is still enabled, It works just fine like that. I'm hoping there will be a fix in the next update of MBAE.
  18. I reported here https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?&showtopic=144762 that the SimExecFlow problem was fixed for me, but unfortunately it's not. I thought it was fixed because deep hooks was unticked and once I had ticked it again the problem returned.
  19. Hello, I had the same problem, but once I turned off self protection and re-booted I was able to delete the desktop shortcut. I then turned self protection back on and re-booted again. I suppose If you want to do a clean uninstall you have to turn off self protection first.
  20. One thing I forgot to mention, before doing the above procedure I stopped then restarted Protection in the MBAE window.
  21. Hello, The SimExecFlow problem now appears to be fixed on my system. I loaded up EMET and clicked on import, then clicked on each item in the list + open: The three items in the EMET import list for me are CertTrust.xml PopularSoftware.xml RecommendedSoftware.xml The SimExecFlow box for each item in the apps list should now show as ticked. I'm not sure what will happen for any manually entered items in the apps list, all my applications are included in the imported lists. I have tested on Firefox, which now loads normally along with the plugin container, even though SimExecFlow is ticked. I'm not sure if it was the above procedure that made it work, because I never checked it was still broken before doing it. As far as I can remember I haven't changed anything else on my system. Will someone please try and confirm this on their system.
  22. Hi XhenEd, I have just read the Kaspersky forum topic you posted. I use Kaspersky because in my humble opinion it's the best AV on the market, likewise I use MBAM and MBAE because its the best anti-malware on the market. For me, I have used Malwarebytes and Kaspersky products for a number of years, and have never found any conflict between the two. If a problem ever did arise I know which one I would dump, and it would not be Malwarebytes, I'd just find an alternative compatible AV.
  23. Hi 1PW, Sorry for my confusion, I see what you were saying now and I agree with your theory. Regards.
  24. 1PW, I think we have our wires crossed a bit, the kaspersky detection of mbae-test.exe is not a false positive, it has been detected correctly. The kaspersky detection only occurs if MBAE is deactivated (test as requested by OP). When MBAE is active its that that detects the test file and not Kaspersky.
