  1. Hello Porthos, A strong possibility. I will follow up on that suggestion. Thanks. Anne
  2. Hello daledoc1, Thank you for your reply. I used the link you gave me. It seems that every time I try to access the Seven's forum, I keep getting the 'page con not be displayed white page. What to do? Anne
  3. BTW, I think I was banned at Sevens Forum for not answering a message thread. I can not access the site. Would you find out why?
  4. Hello AS, Thanks for your timely reply. Comcast customer service was unable to reset the password. It was so old that the router's manufacturer no longer support it. I was offline for a couple of days until I bought a new router/modem. and I now have a secure network. Thanks, Anne
  5. Hello, I need a forum to help me with adding a password for my Wi-Fi network. At this time, I don't have internet access to Seven's Forum and someone is using my network to access Comcast and my network is accused of copyright infringement. Obviously, this is now a time sensitive problem. I have windows 7 with IE 11. Thanks, Anne
  6. Yes Kevin, Good news. I opened my HostsMan and when I checked for updates, all of the files populated it once more and my machine is working good again. I suspect that it had a corrupt file that Dr. Web removed. Thank you very much Kevin. Your assistance was much appreciated.
  7. Hello Kevin, I managed to carry out the instructions you gave me. Dr. Web Cureit completely stripped my HostsMan down to the bone. I don't understand how it would suddenly be the cause of the sluggishness when it caused no problem until recently. Just for the heck of it, I am going to get my HostsMan up and running. If indeed my machine slows again, I will remove the program and try an ad and pop up remover that will coexist without causing the sluggishness. See attached below. Thank you for your assistance Kevin. It is most appreciated. Anne Fixlog.txtcureit.log
  8. Hello Kevin, I did not realize that I was causing difficulties multitasking issues with my laptop. As I told daledoc1, I will put any other concerns with my machine on the backburner and focus on one issue at a time. I will make it a point to always do that in the future. I apologize for not doing that; a take away lesson. I will now proceed to implement your latest instructions to me. Thank you for helping me. Your patience is most appreciated. Anne
  9. Hello Kevin I am attaching the results you asked for. Thank you for your help. Anne Export.txtAdwareCleanerScan.txtJRT.txtFRST.txtAddition.txt BTW, I know that the export text shows rootkit as disabled and it is not.
  10. Hello, I need to figure out why I have a slow machine. Sorry for the typo in the title. Anne Addition.txt FRST.txt
  11. Hello exile, Thanks for steering me to the correct forum. It has been a long time since I needed assistance there. Anne
  12. Thanks for the information. I never had so many entries security warnings until now so I never needed to know what to get rid of in the quarantine area. I will so as you say.
  13. Thanks for the timely reply from the both of you in messages 8,9,and 10. In answer to message #9. On my laptop that we are discussing here, it was slow from when I turned machine on for maintenance. I wanted too rule out foul play. My first guess is infection so I am not signing in to anything except this website. As far as updates and scans, that is one of the main reasons I open up my laptop occasionally, On both of my machines, I keep everything up to date, especially the security updates. and the appropriate scans, I keep clean machines! I have the same HostsMan file on both machines. My desktop is a fast machine and so was my laptop until now. I would hazard to guess that the HostsMan is not the problem. It looks like I will need to go to the appropriate section for help with running additional tests as ordered. Will someone please tell me where to get this help. It has been a long time since I needed this assistance. Anne
  14. I did the tests as requested. Just so you know, I am running these tests on my laptop. My desktop will be covered on a separate thread. See three attached test results FRST.txtAddition.txtCheckResults.txt .
  15. Thank you for your assistance but one last thing. I have a question about the quarantine list out of curiosity. Do entries stay there for ever and if so how many get piled up over time? Should I get rid of the old ones?
  16. Hello daledoc1, I apologize for the confusion. I was having issues with false positive entries on both of my machines which was one issue that came up yesterday. This issue came up because I wanted to do the self help tests for both my desktop and laptop. I wanted to start with my laptop which is not used all of the time, but I turn it on at least every two or three months just for basic maintenance. It is acting very sluggish. I will proceed with your instructions in message #5 Please see attached machine info. Anne
  17. I just wanted to add an update on this thread regarding my false positives. I always keep my MBAM software up to date at all times on both my desktop and laptop; I just got finishing yet another scan on both of them and now there are no more false items, Is it possible that your fix for them did not take for me until the next day? That is the only conclusion I can come up with.
  18. Just so you know, I had updated MBAM both my laptop and desktop before I even started to scan them. They are both scanning clean now. In another post I put in I was told that the 'false positives' were fixed on the website. Did it take until now for the fix to take effect on my machines?
  19. Okay. But lets go back to those false positives being reported in both my desktop and laptop. What to do?
  20. I went to my control panel to see my program list and MBAM's latest definition database is indeed 2.2.0.1024.
  21. I just want to be certain of what I am updating. Should I have 2016.01.24.01 as the latest MBAM?
  22. It just occurred to me that in the past, and not every day, I have gotten messages from MBAM that (and I can't remember the exact message) that an outgoing threat existed; Hosts?
  23. Hi Tammy, I have HostsMan file set up the same way on both of my machines and use the same support forum for each- hpHosts. See attached. Anne
  24. Hello blender, Just to make things more interesting, I have the same problem going on with my laptop!! What are the chances of getting false positives on two different machines? BTW, I have HostsMan on both machines.Just saying. Right now, every time I do a threat scan on my desktop or laptop, I get more threat entries. Anne Help.txt
  25. I am having two separate issues at once. Update- I still have this problem because I wanted to fix my laptop because it was running very slow. Please look at the attachment. A registry issue? Anne
