  1. Hi, this morning Bleeping Computer is available to me and things seem a bit better. Should I still follow your instructions?
  2. I just did a scan with Malwarebytes and it came back clear of any infections. (please refer to my last post). My problem is that my computer will not let me download dds.scr or dds.com because it won't let me connect to anything related to bleeping computer. It just goes to blank page and the green progress bar just stops at about one third of the way and the circle just keeps spinning and spinning.
  3. Hi, well it's now Oct 24. Just now I updated and did another scan with Malwarebytes free version. The same PUP infections showed up which I just ignored again. However I took a closer look and saw that all of the infections were connected to browser safeguard which I have no idea how I got that on my computer. Anyway I went to the control panel and removed browser safeguard and my last scan came out perfectly clear!! However, the computer is still quite slow and I absolutely cannot get to Bleeping computer who have helped me in the past. I would still appreciate your help when you have time. Thank you!
  4. I should have mentioned that Bleeping Computer will not load at all as well. My computer is Vistas home premium version 64 bitt.
  5. My computer just hangs and won't let me download DDScr or the other DDS.com
  6. I am posting this here as I may have posted in the wrong forum earlier. Yesterday I noticed that my computer was running awfully slow and hanging or freezing when I clicked on a title for example that came up on a google search. So I ran a quick scan with Malwarebytes free version (updated). The scan reported 20 PUP optional .b infections which I quickly looked at and then ticked them all to remove. Then I restarted the computer only to find that when I clicked on Internet Explorer it would not connect me to any website whatsoever! That included Outlook, Facebook, Google, Royal Bank absolutely nothing! So I went back to the scan log, found all the removed PUP from the Oct 22 11:29 log and restored them all. Then I could go to the different websites. Then I did another scan and removed only the PUP infections that were found in files or folders and kept the ones that were located in memory or registry areas. Then again, I still could not access any website from Internet Explorer so I went back to the log and restored every one of the PUP infections and voila, I could again go to the websites! I even went so far as to use system restore to set a new restore point at Oct 21, the day before all of this started. The computer is still extrememely slow however. Please give me a clear instruction on what you want me to do now, keeping in mind that I just scanned several times yesterday with Malwarebytes so I don't need to install Malwarebytes.
  7. I sure hope someone can help me here. Yesterday my computer was running awfully slowly so I did a Malwarebytes scan (free version and updated). The scan listed 20 PUP opt.b infections so I clicked on them to remove all of them. As soon as I did that, I restarted my computer BUT when I clicked onto Internet Explorer, I could not connect to any website at all! Not google, Outlook, Facebook, NOTHING! So I went back to look again at the log of the scan and I found all of the items the scan found on the 22nd of October at 11:29 AM and clicked each one and restored them all! Then I could connect to all the websites again! I noticed that a few of the PUP optional b infections were in files, folders, and some were in memory, some in registry keys and registry values. I scanned again and removed all of the PUP infections except for the ones that said registry or memory; same thing after removal: I could not connect to any website through Internet Explorer. I even restored my computer to the 21st of October using system restore. Right now by leaving all thePUP infections listed and not removing them, I can reach websites. However my computer is still very slow to respond. Any ideas on what I should do? My computer is Vista premium home version with 64 bit. I am not a computer expert at all so any instructions you might have for me would have to be quite detailed and clear and easy to follow. Thank you in advance for your help.
  8. Today my computer was being awfully slow so I did a quick scan with my updated version of free Malwarebytes. The results were 20 malicious threats and everyone of them started with PUP.optionB. I looked at each one and some of them were found in files, some in registry key, some in memory, some in folders. So I thought these are all bad and clicked to remove all. I then restarted the computer as suggested and INSTANTLY, when I clicked on Internet Explorer, it said Internet Explorer could not find the website; I could not go to google, hotmail, facebook, NOTHING! So first I tried system restore which did not work; then I went back into Malwarebytes and found the log for today and I checked everything from today's scan and clicked RESTORE. Now it all works again but my computer is still very slow especially if I do a google search and then click on one of the topics that comes up; often the computer just hangs and NEVER gets there. So any ideas of what I could do?
