  1. Yes. No anti malware utilities and Virus Total can scan within a password protected Archive file (ZIP, RAR, 7zip, etc.) If you have issues, post the RAR, noting this thread, and I'll do the rest.
  2. I doubt that it is a virus. We are just not seeing true viruses as much anymore. The vast majority of all malware are trojans. The simplistic difference is that viruses autonomously spread and trojans need assistance to be installed and to spread. Please reference the following on how to provide sample submissions such that Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) can detect targeted but presently undetected threats in the form of disk files. Malware Hunters group Purpose of this forum Then create a new post in; Newest Malware Threats
  3. That is a safe process. But you can do the same without Sanboxie. If that makes you feel better, go for it.

  5. Thank you. As noted, you have to place the .EML in a ZIP (RAR or 7zip) Archive and then attach the Archive (ZIP, RAR or 7zip). EML file format is better because we can see the Full Header and Body. This is spam in the name of Malwarebytes and not from Malwarebytes and is meant to garner referral revenue. EDIT: x-clickref=1101lxYrdqmC
  6. You can extract the email into a .EML file and place it in a ZIP Archive file and attach that ZIP file. Or you can take a ScreenShot of the body of of the email (redacting your email address and name) and post a JPEG of the ScreenShot. We are seeing a number of posts where scammers are sending spam email for product Renewals and FakeAlerts to goad recipients to Malwarebytes to earn referral revenue.
  7. If you can view a Video as content of the web site then it is not an EXE (executable) file. Not really. Your best defense is - You. Your wariness, your looking for corroboration and verification, your understanding the threat landscape and looking before you leap. Your post here shows that. We call understanding the threat landscape and being wary as having Situational Awareness. Just like someone who talks on a Smart Phone and crosses a busy street, they are not "aware". They are not walking with Situational Awareness. Your actions here show you have some Situational Awareness and asking questions to understand the threat landscape. You are "looking both ways before you cross the street", so to speak. Keep on asking questions. Get to know what is or may be a threat and simply, walk away fem something that seems "fishy."

  9. It should also be noted that each Operating System (OS) version of Malwarebytes only scans malware that targets that OS. Malwarebytes for Windows does not detect Android malware and vice versa for the Android version of Malwarebytes.
  10. I think you mean "malware" not virus as viruses are not as prevalent as trojans and both trojans and viruses are sub-types of malware. You can't know. You should assume it is malicious and not run (launch) any EXE, SCR or other files that Windows will treat as an executable file. You should also Disable "Hide Extensions For Known File Types" as this is a way to hide the malicious nature of a file such as a file named; myfile.pdf.exe Hiding the extension will make it falsely appear as; myfile.pdf https://www.techadvisor.com/article/734213/how-to-show-or-hide-file-extensions-in-windows-10.html You should save the file to disk and upload the suspect file to Virus Total. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload Get a report and you will then see if it is malicious or suspected of being malicious. Often you may be confronted with a picture of a video when it is a graphic with a possibly malicious URL hiding behind it. Videos (WMV, MOV, MP4, etc) can be malicious but not really "infect." They may be Exploit Code that can cause a malicious file to be downloaded and may be labeled a Wimad Trojan. If the content of the provider is a video that plays inline then this would not be the case and the content may be objectionaable but not malicious in a computing platform sense. One rule to follow is do not trust any file download offered through ANY Social Media platform such as Telegram.
  11. Yes. I pay $7 US for Hain's
  12. @NewTricks Please see; For me looking for Windows Tools Patch i had a talent of cooking For me, a problem with baked goods is there is too much Sodium. I use Active Dry Yeast for cakes and pancakes as well as Sodium Free Baking Power which uses Potassium Bicarbonate instead of Sodium Bicarbonate.
  13. Thank you. There have been multiple recent submissions of spam'd Malwarebytes' Product Renewals and FakeAlerts that are not from Malwarebytes but are from 3rd parties seeking referral monetary gains.
  14. You don't have to use the VPN services. If $1.11 per computing platform per month is better for you for 3 platforms than just one platform @ $3.75 per month, then go for it. It seems like a very good deal. Albeit, one would have to read the fine print. The price MAY increase after the end of that first year and you should be cognizant of that possibility.
  15. Wasn't that, Patch Tuesday, last week; 11/14 ?
  16. No, that is not the only solution. You can disable Browser Guard in the Browser Extension Manager when you use YouTube.
  17. @MarkGd Thank you. There have been multiple recent submissions of spam'd Malwarebytes' Product Renewals and FakeAlerts that are not from Malwarebyts but are from 3rd parties seeking referral monetary gains. PING @JPopovic
  18. One problem with the TXT is that there are no line breaks, noted in a normal RAW email message format, which makes it very hard to parse the data.
