I see some improvement on my Windows 7 netbook MB 3.0.6.1458 with MSE (with MB exclusions): - Login to MB icon appearing - was 4:45, now 3:15 - Shutdown time was 4:40, now 1:50 The only way to improve performance further is to remove MSE
-
The Edit and Remove buttons in Exploit Protection are now active for custom shields at least!

Clean install is theoretically unnecessary but safer (in my opinion) until V3 settles down. -

Then it appears there is a problem on this computer. Here is some more detail. Clean installed Malwarebytes 3.0.6.1458 Entered licence key All protections enabled except ransomware Restarted All protections enabled except ransomware Started Ransomware manually, all good. Also had to do manual update On restart, all protection layers enabled Logs attached Tried installing it on a second computer, this time as soon as I entered the licence key, it updated and all layers switched on. All good. Both computers are set up similarly Windows 10 1607 Defender mbae-protector.zip -

Do you have Microsoft Security Essentials installed? If so you may have to turn off real-time protection in MSE or uninstall it.

3.05 keeps resetting

I hope Malwarebytes devs noticed this yet another Windows user profile corruption! The best way to recover from this issue is - in the temporary profile do the following: In Malwarebytes Settings > Protection, uncheck Start Malwarebytes at Windows startup Then restart the computer and your normal profile should open. Malwarebytes 3 will start when you log in and you won't get that error You will have to start Malwarebytes manually, unless you do the following workaround which will start Malwarebytes when you log in, not at Windows Startup: Copy the Malwarebytes shortcut icon on the desktop to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup Alternatively, while in the temporary profile, uninstall Malwarebytes and restart the computer, your normal profile should load. -

After uninstall/reinstall of 3.0.5.1299, this issue has resolved. Any idea what caused it? -

You have the FRST logs for this computer - ASUS Netbook. -
Downloaded & installed over 3.0.4. (Set to start at login, not Windows startup) I get the UI with "Awesome your protected. As soon as I close the UI the tray icon disappears. Have uninstalled until this is fixed. MBAMSERVICE.zip

When I had the issue on 3 Windows 10 computers during beta testing, it was definitely caused by Malwarebytes3. -

Is this your Windows user profile - it fails to load and sets up a temporary profile? I have the same issue. Until it is fixed, a workaround is as follows: In Malwarebytes Settings > Protection, uncheck Start Malwarebytes at Windows startup Copy the Malwarebytes shortcut icon on the desktop to: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup Then Malwarebytes 3 will start when you log in and you won't get that error -

Right click on Malwarebytes tray icon, hopefully you see ticks against the four protection layers. Or right click on Malwarebytes tray icon > Open Malwarebytes > Dashboard - all four protection layers should be on. Sometimes you may have to wait for a few seconds after startup or an update for all ticks to appear. If layers are all on then ignore the warning balloon. This is a know issue which will hopefully be fixed soon. See point 3 here:

DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE on wireless drivers
John A replied to EdAInWestOC's topic in Anti-Exploit Beta
This may or may not be relevant. Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3172985) appears to be causing internet connection issues. My Ethernet failed after installing this update but was OK on restart.
