  2. System Restore worked, but my computer still crashed on startup. Startup repair fixed the problem. I'll report back if my computer crashes again.
  3. I have a problem with that... I have a fresh install here that has nothing from more than yesterday, and it was buggy/crashy when I reset. I'll try it anyway, though.
  4. Hi, I am here again to try to figure this out. I've been wrestling with this for about three days now and it won't let up. Around three days ago, my computer blue screened and gave me a page fault error. I used WhoCrashed and it pointed me towards my graphics driver, which I then updated. The problem then went away for about three hours, then I got IQRL_NOT something, I didn't get time to read it all... WhoCrashed says it was an unknown dirver, and I don't know what happened. I then did a factory reset, but it didn't help, as my computer just crashed one more time during system restoration. So I used my boot disk for Windows 7 to reinstall it. It worked, but only for about a day, then it began crashing again. The only way to get away from these crashes is to boot in safe mode... I'm using Safe Mode with Networking right now to post this, and it's only crashed once. My computer is a Toshiba Sattelite C655 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Can I get some help? Usually factory restore fixes broken drivers/sys files.
  5. By the way, good news! I can finally change the brightness and resolution of my screen! From AdwCleaner's log: From MBAM's log:
  6. It did not save a log, it uninstalled part of a program that I thought was not a Trojan,l but it assured that it was. A .dll of Ida Pro was deleted, so I deleted the rest. I have updated my Display Driver, but I still cannot resize my screen or turn down my brightness. I did restart my computer and it ran check disk, and when it finished, and when I logged back in, something popped up and it said that I should restart my computer again.
  7. Oh, and I can only change the resolution of my computer to two settings and I can't edit how bright it is.
  8. Well, MBAR ran without a problem and removed a registry key. That did not fix the problem, however, as System Settings.exe is still adware. The logs will be attached. There are three of them, ones before I reset my computer, and one after. attach.zip
  9. From RKreport[0]: Best Buy Pc App is pre installed on my computer, which I got from BestBuy.
  10. So I recently reset my computer to factory settings to save it from rootkits and malware that I installed on accident. ow, about four months later; I must try to save it again. It started a week ago, after I installed a edgy loooking program that didn't work as advertised. It was supposed to help me defragment my hard drive, but it was actually malware and I removed it. Little did I know the damage was already done. I rebooted the computer shortly after MBAM gave me the message that the program was malware, to find that System Settings.exe is perpetually open and displays ads from time to time. I went to my friend's house for a few days, and he does not have internet there, and System Settings.exe did not open once to tell me anything about my media player or to click on it to save money on gas. If you're wondering why I didn't pick up that the defragger wasn't a virus; I can't really tell you. It checked out fine when I scanned it with MBAM before installation.. It was only after it was installed that it came up as a virus. I turned on my computer and error messages from System Settings.exe periodically pop up, giving the .NET Framework crash window and saying that an unhandled exception has occured. Quote Is there a way to remove this malware? Or will I have to reset my computer again? (Posted as per instructions of moderator.) DDS.scr spat these two .txt files out: DDS.txt and attach.txt DDS: attach.txt: I am on a Toshiba Sattelite C655 with Windows 7.
