  1. UPDATE: I have found the trojan.powelkis removal tool provided by Symantec on their main website (http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2014-111020-0511-99) to be most helpful. However, I still require assistance. This problem has eaten up my whole day, yet still I have not exterminated it. Further Information: Avast! Security (Free) keeps popping up with "infection blocked" messages related to the adware. These connections are being made through Internet explorer even though I dont even use it. This further proves my idea of why Microsoft is very stupid for linking most of their updates and Windows OS to a very flawed and utterly awful browser. (Just a side note) Please help quickly!
  2. I am currently going under an attack to my system that needs urgent care! I have multiple antiviruses running right now, yet only Spyhunter 4 is actually picking up the trojan and adware. I have adware that is redirecting towards a malicious website by the name of cdn1.movieroomreviews. THE TROJAN HOWEVER IS THE MAJOR PROBLEM. This trojan is a threat to my personal security as of right now. The file name of this trojan infection is trojan.poweliks. PLEASE HELP ME IMMEDIATELY! P.S: Either the trojan or adware is continuously filling up my C:/ Drive with random temp files as a way to fill up my disk space and make it impossible to recover my PC. I do not want to do a factory restore as I have many things on this computer, but if i have to I will. P.S.S: I have already done a system restore, but it did not help. There are no earlier ones than this current one.

  4. Thank you so much. I used the malwarebytes quick scan using the settings said and I have removed the remaining adware. I then scanned one more time and no threat was found. Amazing work! Off topic: I just have to ask, during quick scan, the objects scanned switches from 2000 scanned to about 25,000 scanned in the blink of an eye, does this mean the scan has skipped over some items?
  5. Note: If wondering why there are less malware/adware entries from the Roguekiller report, i had manually deleted some of the entries found by Malwarebytes.
  6. Well I wanted to download videos from youtube using YTD, as I have used it before in the past. I did not get a spigot last time I downloaded it from Cnet but i did this time. In internet explorer, it redirects my homepage to yahoo.com with a weird URL. When using Malwarebytes, i get a message that 8 files are infected, this was not the case before the download. Please help me to remove this spigot. If needed to post any logs, i will.
