So over the past couple of weeks, I have noticed that when I visited a certain website, it has once in a while redirected me to a very suspicious looking site. The legitimate website I was attempting to access is run by a legitimate company so I don't see this being a fault on their part. But, this is the third time it has happened. I entered the address into the bar as usual but I was redirected to a random website claiming that I must update my Adobe Flash Player to "Adobe Flash Player 12". I went onto Adobe's website and looked around for any updates (mainly a big update since it was warning me about Adobe Flash Player 12). But there was no update big update, there was no "Adobe Flash Player 12". I believe this site was trying to get me to download the "Adobe Flash Player 12" off of their site which would have most likely ended up badly. What I'm wondering is, why would this have happened three times in a row? I have ran full scans multiple times with both Avast and MalwareBytes but neither have detected anything out of the ordinary. I was considering removing avast and trying another antivirus, but I just don't want to mess anything up any further than it already is. I have also considered installing the latest Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool and running that because I have yet to do that this month. I have searched many forums, but all of the posts are based on multiple redirects as in almost every site the user searches redirect, yet my browser has only redirected when I have put in a certain address. I use Google Chrome as my main browser and Firefox as a secondary browser which I rarely use. I have checked Google Chrome, Firefox and IE for suspicious add-ons. The only thing I found was a Java Deployment Toolkit in Firefox which had red lettering around it saying that "It is known to be vulnerable" and to "Use with caution". I can currently access the internet and haven't had any issues opening any of my regular programs. If any of these symptoms are close to or are spot on with any virus, malware, rootkit, trojan or spyware you know of, then please assist me with removing the dreadful thing(s) off of my computer. Hope you are having a nice day, Hermesx
