  1. Hi Folks, In order to tshoot the disabled protection of MALWAREBYTES after the Windows 10 Anniversary update, I uninstalled the current version. When I tried to install a newly downloaded copy of the .exe I received a dialog that stated the certificate for this software is EXPIRED, as of 6/19/2016. Can you please confirm if the cert is truly expired, and why it is expired? This should be updated with each major version. I realize signing is still intact, but the cert expiration damages public confidence. For what it is worth, after re-installing, MBAM works now on my Win10 Anniversary install.
  2. I was hit by some malware a couple of weeks ago, so my attention is heightened. Can you guys help me verify if this is a possible issue? I see this issue only on the recent version of MBAM's UI do I see the strange "dotted line" surrounding the active dialog box button. I just want to verify if this is a normal UI feature of MBAM, or if I should suspect another software program doing this. See the screenshots. Note: IF I click away from MBAM and move focus onto another window, the dotted box around MBAM's OK button disappears. I do not see the dotted square on any other application. ONLY MBAM. Thanks guys, Steel
  3. This week I was hit with VOSTERAN while running WinDefender and MBAM pro. This was while downloading a FLASH update from a 3rd party site for a football video site. I recognized it immediately, and disconnected the pc from my lan. It replaced my Firefox homepage with VOSTERAN.com, and wrote many items in my profile folder and registry. MBAM did not detect this in realtime, but it started finding many suspect files afterward during Threat Scan mode after I kicked it off. Repeat, all this was while I was running under MBAM's REAL TIME PROTECTION! So, would MBAE have protected me theoretically? Will MBAE protect against at least against HIJACKs during drive by infections? SuperantiSpyware's PRO product protects against these browser hijacks out of the box. Steel
  4. Threat Scan does indeed scan all local volumes, whether they are physical block devices (drives), SSD drives, or Flash drives. If they are mounted they are checked. I had a scan this week that found a Trojan that had infected files on my C SSD drive, and my user drive D.
  5. I do like the "Last Scan...." text on the Scan button...quickly lets me know ... looks like the first latest version doesn't have it
  6. It appears that scanning inside archive files (including compressed files) is now included in the free current product. 1.75.0.1300. Go to SETTINGS/SCANNER SETTINGS/ by default ENABLE SCANNING INSIDE ARCHIVES is checked. This is a great feature!
