Facebook is very aggressive with their ads and their methods to avoid blocking. It is a cat and mouse game with their ads and products such as ours. If they're coming back, we'll take care of it and they'll change something and so will we. I assume you see the pattern. Give us a release or two and it will likely be taken care of.

False positive while using browser guard - *.goldcore.com
gonzo replied to Rafal_Treffler's topic in Website Blocking
This was fixed earlier this morning (which you are likely already aware of). I forgot to address it here. I apologize for that. I just confirmed the site is accessible. The block affected all subdomains on the goldcore.com domain, so they should all be working properly. -
The site has been whitelisted. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Not seeing any blocks, and @Porthos said the block has disappeared. If it happens again, please let us know with as much detail as possible. Thank you.
-
I cannot access the first site. Please provide evidence that it is blocked. The other two URLs are accessible without any issues.

Thought it would take longer to resolve. Glad to hear its working already!

The block on the site hosting the image has been lifted. Please allow a few hours for changes to take effect.

The site was not blocked, but the download of a file type that is often targeted as a malware delivery vehicle was. I have whitelisted the site. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect.

I have been investigating and lobbying for removal of the blocks. It is sometimes a a slow process. If you can provide me a list of the sites via private message, I will work with the team to analyze the blocks and clear those that can be cleared. There are multiple types of blocks, so a block may affect many sites or just one. We have to determine that still.

The screenshot you posted shows that you were not using https protocol to get to the website, which is why I said to try putting in https://api.nzbplanet.net in your browser's address bar. Please note the underlined and bold part. You will want to see the padlock as it appears in my address bar. (see the attachment) If that doesn't work, pinging the site and finding the same URL means DNS is working. No data loss means you are able to access it, so your networking is okay. That would narrow it down to a problem in your browser (most likely), possibly TLS security. It never hurts to do Windows Update again, and when it completes, try one more time. It messed me up yesterday, and persistence got it working again. They do it on Tuesday nights, and because Windows 11 is new, they might still be figuring out how not to cause things to break.

Thank you for that. While it is the common screenshot for what you are describing, I just wanted to make sure. I can access the site with no issue. I don't know if they have a single site or if everything is CDN-based, but try going to a command prompt (Windows Start menu > cmd), and type: ping api.nzbplanet.net I go to 104.25.161.115 with fast response. I am curious whether you go (or try to go) to the same address. Also, try modifying the URL in your browser's address bar to: https://api.nzbplanet.net See what happens...

Are you using Malwarebytes premium (protection for your computer) or Malwarebytes Browser Guard (protection for your browser). We are blocking the site and our Research engineer say the block will not be lifted. If you are using Browser Guard ONLY, there may be a way for you to get round the block.

If the sites you are blocked from are all subdomains of a master website (doodah.aol.com as compared to aol.com), please provide the mater website. I would expect you would not want to share some out of privacy concerns. You can use a private message for this if necessary.

Hold down ALT then press PRINT SCREEN. Immediately after doing that, launch the PAINT program and press CTRL-V. That should copy the screenshot from your clipboard into a file. Save the file in PAINT. It should go into your DOWNLOADS directory.

Could you post a screenshot showing the error? I have accessed the site successfully using two different browsers, one with the consumer version of Malwarebytes and the other with the cloud business version. No problems encountered here at all.

The site has been whitelisted. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect. While you are using notifications for all the right reasons, the fact that you are triggering the block is evidence that you are being very aggressive with your interactions with the browser (the notifications). This is also a favorite behavior of some types of malware (I am NOT accusing you of that). At some point, browser vendors will begin enforcing blocks as we are now. At that point, you will be forced to be less aggressive. Telling you now so that you have an opportunity to begin making changes on your own schedule.

The site has been whitelisted. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect. Sorry for the inconvenience. The databases which drive Browser Guard are the same regardless of the browser being used, so I allowed your thread to remain here.

We have been averaging a new release every 2 weeks....probably around last week of June unless some cooties pop up.

I have tested it with Chrome and Firefox and am not blocked by either browser. When I look at the list of extensions you are using, I immediately wonder why you have multiple versions of (what appears to be) the same extension running, what browser you are using, and if any of those extensions are causing unusual interactions with others. If you are using Chrome or Edge, no Chromium extension is required. If you are NOT using Chrome, Edge or Firefox, you may be using a browser that Browser Guard is not tested on AND may not be approved for use on. I would obviously need to know more. Finally, while you can go to an explicit website URL, Browser Guard's Allow List does not have that level of granularity. An entry for "reddit.com" will work for any address whose domain matches that specification. Anything more is just extra typing.

I have added a whitelist entry for "justcar.top" which should take care of both blocks. Please allow 15-30 minutes for changes to take effect. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I just received word that this bug was introduced in version 2.4.2, has now been fixed in the code base, and will be made available in the next release (2.4.4).
