NFXBeats, Server 2012 is fine. The window style looked like Windows 7, which is why I made that comment. People often install Management Console on Win7 because they can...not because it will work properly. We install a dummy cert when we install IIS Express, but the status bar on your screenshot showed certificate issues indicating an abnormal issue. You do NOT need to buy a cert. XP has setup requirements that go above and beyond Win7 and Vista. You may be running into one of those. As far as rebooting server, I have never needed to unless I chose to. I have never had the server or the console crash either. Without seeing any data, I would guess (and yes, its strictly a guess) that there's a .NET issue at play. Is your most recent screenshot showing the console unable to connect to the server current, or older (before you made any changes)? I do not see a cert issue there any longer, but something is still disallowing connection. Is the console and the server on the same machine, or are you running console from another box? If different, possibly the same cert not being present on the second box could still disallow HTTPS while the server would no longer show a cert issue. You made a good suggestion about the script...I will pass that one along. There would be several permutations needed for it to work, but the concept is good. Finally, your last email said you were updating the client to the latest library version.....please define "library version." I'm not sure what you mean there.

When I look at your screenshots, I have three questions to start with: What operating system are you running Management Console on? It appears to be an unsupported operating system.Have you noticed the certificate error at the bottom of the screen? That would disable the ability for the console and server to communicate with each other over HTTPS.Have you looked at the Best Practices Guide yet?I have installed servers, local consoles, remote consoles and clients dozens of times and have not run into any of the issues you are showing here. So far, all of the problems appear to be related to pre-requisites not being met.

Have you read the Best Practices Guide? It would tell you a lot of the information that you need. There are also Admin Guides for Management Console, Anti-Malware and Anti-Exploit. By the way, Anti-Malware client is not designed to be installed on a server. You might try opening up a support ticket. Very few forum users are even familiar with the business products.

A plane took off from Dulles Airport. After it had reached a comfortable cruising altitude, the captain made an announcement over the intercom: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Welcome to Flight Number 293, nonstop from Washington to Los Angeles. The weather ahead is good and we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. Now sit back and...Oh my God!" Silence followed and after a few minutes, the captain came back on the intercom and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so sorry if I scared you earlier, but while I was talking, the flight attendant brought me a cup of coffee and spilled the hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants!" A passenger in coach said, "That's nothing. He should see the back of mine!"

Managing remote/External Clients
gonzo replied to Hadoken's topic in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Business
You should NEVER locate the Management Server outside of your local network. By doing so, you are making it vulnerable to attack. As a result, the rest of your network will also become exposed. This topic is covered in the Best Practices Guide. The most appropriate answer is to have your remote clients connect to the server using a VPN. The Best Practices Guide and the Management Console Admin Guide also provide warnings regarding changing of the server IP/name after clients have been installed on endpoints. Server identity is defined on the endpoint when the client is installed, and several settings (which are not updated after that time) will get out of sync with the actual server IP/name. If you can't regain connectivity between server and endpoints, you will need to open a support ticket with Malwarebytes Technical Support at https://www.malwarebytes.org/support/business/ -
Hello The New UI Looks Terrible
gonzo replied to NewUILooksTerrible's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows
If what you said were true, these forums would not exist...plain and simple. We learn a lot from the customers and we do our best to respond. If they were to decide to change the UI today, it could not happen until they know that everything works properly. As you can tell from the forum posts over the past few months, more pressing issues are being dealt with. Functionality must take precedence over cosmetics. -
BearWarrior, I will look into this on Monday when I have access to the the order processing software. I am assuming that you purchased it under the last name that you have listed here. If its different, please click on my avatar so you can SEND ME A MESSAGE. Otherwise, I'll let you know what I find on Monday. In the meantime, please check your email's SPAM, JUNK and TRASH folders to see if there is an email from Malwarebytes or Cleverbridge.

ReddingGal, I just went to the Secure Backup page to see if there was anything confusing. Right under the BUY NOW button, the page says that Anti-Malware is not included and must be downloaded separately. In the "Stuff Happens" section, the second paragraph says that files to be backed up will be scanned using Anti-Malware. So far, so good. The "Features" section makes it confusing (I agree with you here) because the first feature listed is Anti-Malware. That implies its part of it and not separate. I will bring this to people's attention on Monday and try to get absolute clarification.

Free, trial and premium are all the same download. When you installed the program, the installer asked if you wanted to run the 14-day free trial, and you said yes. Refer to the following link (its part of the User Guide) and look for the picture of the program screen... http://www.malwarebytes.org/support/guides/mbam/Layout.html The last line in the white section says "Real-Time Protection" and all the way over to the right (in blue) are the words "End Free Trial". Click on those words and you will return to the free version. PLEASE NOTE that running the free version cannot proactively protect you from malware. It can only run scans WHEN YOU TELL IT TO. There's no scan schedule, and if malware does damage your computer before you run the scan, there is no assurance that Malwarebytes can fix the damage after the fact. I'm not trying to sell you the software, but I am telling you the biggest reason why people buy it. I hope this answers your question.

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit signs in the wild
gonzo replied to AdvancedSetup's topic in Malwarebytes News
I was there once. It was a thrill for me at the time, and I was probably calmer than a lot of the folks that work there. -
Everyone who purchases the program gets the same download, Using the license ID and KEY converts it from free/trial to Premium version. The font that is used in the email which you received is not easy to read. If the letters/numbers were bigger or used a different font, there would be very few problems. Check the following font comparisons for the characters that are known to cause problems. The "bad" font: 0 O 1 I 2 Z 5 S A more readable font: 0 O 1 I 2 Z 5 S Hope this helps! Make sure not to grab any leading or trailing spaces. They cause problems too.

A high school freshman won first prize at a Science Fair recently. He was attempting to show how we have become conditioned to alarmists practicing junk science and spreading fear of everything in our environment. In his project, he urged people to sign a petition demanding strict control or total elimination of the chemical "dihydrogen monoxide", and for plenty of good reasons, since: It can cause excessive sweating and vomiting. It is a major component in acid rain.It can cause severe burns in its gaseous state.Accidental inhalation can kill you.It contributes to erosion. It decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes. It has been found in tumours of terminal cancer patients. He asked 50 people if they supported a ban of the chemical. Forty-three said yes, six were undecided. Only one knew that the chemical was water.

BearWarrior, Please specify which program and how you purchased it. There are several programs, and also several ways to buy it. If you bought one of our programs from the Malwarebytes web site, you should have received an email immediately with download and license details. Knowing more will help provide an answer for you. NO PRIVATE INFORMATION please...a lot of people will see what you write.

What version is the database? Because of the number of current forum posts, we did some digging and found that one update server is "stuck" on version v2014.07.09.13, which is one full day old...bad! We're trying to fix it now. There are several update servers, and users hit them based on geography. It may be the one affecting you, and maybe not.

MEE forces install of IIS 7.5 and SQL Express?
gonzo replied to jhegyi's topic in Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Business
For someone who does not have IIS server running, this gives them what they need. Many server admins would likely feel as you do. I have forwarded this to the Product Manager as a comment/suggestion. -
Malicious Website Blocking-Skype.exe
gonzo replied to Mistergabbon's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
There is no guarantee that there was malware in the first place. The warnings are because the IP addresses listed are known to have (or have had in the recent past) malware being hosted there, whether it was with or without the owner's consent. If you are not using the Premium (Pro) version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, you do not have real-time protection, and are vulnerable. If you do have Premium/Pro, you can enable or disable real-time protection, choosing your level of risk to vulnerability in the process. THAT is the prime reason to purchase Premium. As good as the program is at keeping you safe, realtime protection is the only way to protect yourself fully WHEN you need that protection. You will spend 50-100 times the cost of the program in time, energy, lost productivity, lost work and repairs should you get hit by a bad one. Its worth its price. -

Malicious Website Blocking-Skype.exe
gonzo replied to Mistergabbon's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
First, it doesn't affect your usage of Skype. Skype is not using websites on those IP addresses. Second, Skype can give everything away for free by grabbing a little bit of bandwidth from every computer that has it running, including yours. Some of those computers are home to malware. It just doesn't come through Skype. Third, DO NOT tell your Malwarebytes program to exclude these IP addresses, because that is giving any malware that is present on those machines a path to yours. -
Command line switches - techbench?
gonzo replied to dagg929's topic in Malwarebytes Techbench USB (Legacy)
Unfortunately, Techbench is designed to be run from the USB key. If you are a business user, you might want to read up on Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Remediation Tool to see if that gives you what you need. It does have command line capability. -
I'm waitin' too. Don't forget to give me plenty of distractions!

Update screen before scan is initiated
gonzo replied to Digurd's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
I'm using Premium, but it did the same thing briefly before starting the scan which I requested. That screen should change to a scan in progress screen all by itself.
