  1. Wow! Thanks for the lightning-fast answer. (This issue might be a good one for the FAQ.) I love MBAM, and it's staff and friends.
  2. If I run a MBAM Threat or Custom (on all HDs) scan while logged in as Administrator, should it find and solve problems affecting only the Standard account on the same computer? Do I need to log in to each account and scan from each of them?
  3. Is this a malware problem? I have checked installed programs in the control panel no toolbars or etc. My client's Win7-32 computer runs the full paid MBAM for protection. Team Viewer is frisky under the administrative account, MBAM, SUPERAntispyware, Microsoft Security Essentials all say no problem. Under the standard user account, team viewer is molasses and disconnects frequently. Task Manager shows very little network activity. MBAM threat scan and SAS turn up nothing more troublesome than tracking cookies. Last September, MBAM removed PUP.Optional.BundleInstaller and PUP.Optional.MindSpark per its History log. Yesterday (Feb16 2016), the user account's Pale Moon (Firefox derivative browser) had a WeatherBlink/AskWebSearch/MindSpark toolbar, which I removed from AddOns. I had just run MBAM and SAS from the administrative account and was surprised that hadn't been caught. I ran a Custom scan of the three HDs in the system, 306,902 items, 0 threats: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware www.malwarebytes.org Scan Date: 2/17/2016 Scan Time: 2:41 PM Logfile: Administrator: No Version: 2.2.0.1024 Malware Database: v2016.02.17.06 Rootkit Database: v2016.02.17.01 License: Premium Malware Protection: Enabled Malicious Website Protection: Enabled Self-protection: Disabled OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x86 File System: NTFS User: Dorothy Scan Type: Custom Scan Result: Completed Objects Scanned: 306902 Time Elapsed: 17 min, 41 sec Memory: Enabled Startup: Enabled Filesystem: Enabled Archives: Enabled Rootkits: Enabled Heuristics: Enabled PUP: Enabled PUM: Enabled Processes: 0 (No malicious items detected) Modules: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Values: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Data: 0 (No malicious items detected) Folders: 0 (No malicious items detected) Files: 0 (No malicious items detected) Physical Sectors: 0 (No malicious items detected) (end)
  4. Which computer would the lifetime license be for? My client's? Would I be able to contact Malwarebytes on her behalf? Can I make the purchase and install it on her machine? If she doesn't like it, can she transfer (give or sell) the license to someone else? (She currently has an AVG subscription, which used to be good software for XP, but she doesn't like it anymore for Win7...)
  5. I am a computer support person. I recommended MBAM realtime (Pro) to a client, and she wants it for her (single, only) Win7 machine. I'll be doing her installation, and if she has trouble, I will be contacting Malwarebytes on her behalf. I'm running MBAM Pro Trial version. Should I buy the license for my two Windows machines (Win7 and XP Pro) and use the "third machine" for my client's machine? Is this considered legitimate? Are there guidelines about the relationship between the three covered machines?
  6. Hello, Malwarebytes and viruskiller, I, also, have had my COMMAND.COM flagged as having Trojan.Agent. I, also, am running MBAM 1.46 with updated virus defs (913051804). My COMMAND.COM is freshly expanded from a genuine MS XP Home CD. Weirdly, right-clicking in Explorer and choosing scan with MBAM from the context menu says it's clean. Start/Run mbam.exe /developer c:\windows\system32\command.com runs a quick scan which says it's clean. Start/Run mbam.exe /developer runs a full scan which says Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.46 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: 913051804 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702 5/18/2013 9:50:01 AM mbam-log-2013-05-18 (09-50-01).txt Scan type: Full scan (C:\|) Objects scanned: 340130 Time elapsed: 1 hour(s), 0 minute(s), 32 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 1 ... Files Infected: C:\WINDOWS\system32\command.com (Trojan.Agent) -> No action taken. [27517B842938D5006908C61D87F3AB7C] So, quick scan didn't flag it, full scan immediately afterward did. (The machine was disconnected from the net at the time.) I'll try updating the MBAM engine as recommended. If I still have the issue, I'll add another post. BTW, thanks, MBAM is excellent. I have recommended it to many friends.
