  1. Thank you both for your help and suggestions. I am fine using a computer, but once it breaks I am clueless.
  2. Thank you advancedsetup. Any suggestions on where to take my laptop for data recovery? I have turned off the computer and will not use it. Ugh!!! This is a nightmare.
  3. FremontPC: I was able to use the install/recover CD by hitting the escape button. Somehow it ended up restoring my computer to factory settings. I am not a tech person,I should've let a professional take a look at it. I lost all of my data, but at least my computer is working again. Thank you for all of your help. Big lesson learned: back up all of my data offsite, a prescription service.
  4. Good idea FrepmontPC. I have not tried that option yet. I will try it again and let you know what happens.
  5. Thank you both of you!!! I really appreciate it. Have a great day
  6. Firefox: I am unable to boot my computer in safe or regular mode. Either mode this error shows up b4 the Windows log on screen. Then I get nothing but a black screen. The program can't start because cryptui.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling to fix this problem. The computer did this exact same thing when I inserted the recovery disc. It acted like there was not any disc there at all. I have tried every single option in your link several times to no avail. I need someone to look at it in person. It's going to costs $$$$$$. I don't see how I can, with my limited tech, repair, resolve, or retrieve my data. In my gut I feel the hard drive was deleted
  7. I am using a smart phone. I don't have another computer. My computer isn't working. Thank you Firefox and fremontPC for the help. This is all above my head tech wise. I will see if my brother in law can look at these instructions and burn the Win 7 restore. There isn't anyway I can download links, or anything else, to or from my laptop. Thank God for smart phones.
  8. FremontPC, Thank you for your help. The lap top was a gift from my sister. She said the recovery disc is the HP factory reset recovery disc that she had to purchase separately. 500 GB Hard drive, unable to see amount of hard drive that is in use. Model is HP 625, Product XT96OUT#ABA. S/N 5CG10301LC
  9. Freemont PC- I finally located the restore cd. The computer doesn't recognize it. Same error happens. My computer won't even let me get to the windows 7 log on. I feel its fried beyond repair. I was basically told by support there isn't a fix yet. I have lost all data. I am losing business. I understand they are overwhelmed, but it is beyond frustrating to not have answers. I feel they need to admit in many cases like mine there is no fix. Am I going to have to pay hundreds of $$$ to have someone look at my computer to try to restore the data?
  10. I feel your pain. I am in the same boat. DLL deleted, can't get to log on screen. It's a hot mess. I have a feeling my computer is fried and not repairable.
  11. I have the support desk help. They said there isn't a fix for this yet. I've lost all data on my computer. I can't run my business. Very frustrating. Losing lots of business.
  12. Ever since the false positive scan and quarantine I am unable to even boot my computer to get to the windows 7 log on screen. I get this error after turning the computer on in regular and safe mode: The program can't start because cryptui.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling to fix this problem. I do not have any recovery discs or CDs. Does anyone know a fix for this? It's as if malawarebytes deleted my hard drive.
