  1. I tried all that , yes. But it does not work. With MB not starting with windows and selfprotection previously disabled, the link still demands adminstrator rights to get removed (and like you, I AM the administrator for sure). With then switching on MB, selfprotection is found to be disabled, and still the link cannot be removed. Also, I disabled in the installation of MB the option to have a link place don my diesktop. Just that that choice gets ingored. One day I either will reinstall my system as part of yearly routine, or am so bored that I do the manual deinstallation, download, reinstallation combo for MB. It's just that after so long time they finally should have done their homework on this. Its not their customers' job to do their job.
  2. Same here, cannot delete it, self-protection on or off does not matter. I think in the past (the problem arises every time a major software update gets installed) this was only resolved by manually uninstalling and reinstalling the software. But I am a bit unpatient after almost three years that the producer still has not resolved this issue, although he must know since as long of its existence - and instead expects the customer to always manually fiddle around with it. It is a link that should get deleted, just a link icon, not more! Please get some very old homework finally done instead of expecting customer to always work around it! Time there has been enough, I'd say. Have the issue also on two other system that I maintain for other people.
  3. I think I can top the bad news. MBAM Pro. I was playing Skyrim, offline. When leaving the game, got greeted with a message that MBAM quaratined something, if I recall correctly: some TrojanED or so. Not sure what I did next, I think there was no alternative than to allow it, since the other option just had the message coming up and again. The HD then worked on and on. When I had enoiugh, I restarted the system, since nothing worked anymore. My accounts (one user, one administrator) then were not recognised anymore. I cannot log in. I CANNOT LOG IN. Canot say what happened, whether MBAM has deleted system files already. Obviously it has done some tremendous damage, or not?! I think I must reinstall the whole system?! Such update disasters must not happen. They messed up very big time. I am sorry that I payed money for this.
