miekiemoes- Renaming the mbam file to blah.bat got Malware Bytes to run. I am still planning on pulling the necessary data and running a new install as the machine is pretty hosed at the moment. Thanks for the help. Derek

My roommates computer is having Malware issues. Unfortunately I cannot install Malware bytes to solve the problem. If i try to run the executable it creates the hourglass and runs in the background. I renamed the file as a batch file and it started the install but would hang indefinitely at the last step. This installation was in Safe Mode with Networking. On reboot into safe mode it says the program is installed but clicking on the link, running from a command line under its original name or renemed does nothing. When I run a McAffee Virus scan it detects five items and says it removed the first and quarantined the last four.
