  1. Hi abuaufa, Well do you have any idea of what you did? Can you do a system restore for right before you made the changes? Edit: Also, usually, you can open up the browser and go into the options area of it and choose "use as my default browser" or something similar (I have all of those browsers except Chrome) so I can help you find where this might be if you'd like.
  2. That's okay , I understand what you meant now that you explained it, but yeah, since it isn't actually an error message, and of course wording it like that can be confusing to others if its not really an error message. Yes, I see that someone else posted something similar.
  3. Well Andy that doesn't really look like an error message to me... just the protection module working I would re-post this in the False Positives forum so that someone can check it out for you along with a sample of the file being hit zipped up & attached to your post: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showforum=42
  4. Trafalgarman211068, Well was anything with the name Virut/Sality or TDSS rootkit found? If so, those are nasty infections. The first requires a reformat and the latter can be cleaned but has backdoor functionality so the machine can never again fully be trusted so a reformat is recommended. Are you still getting any IP blocks? I also highly, highly recommend that you visit the malware removal forum as suggested by a few other people prior in this thread.
  5. @ YoKenny1 hehe I've watched a couple MythBusters, but I guess not enough, hehe. Ah! I've seen that movie but it's been a while and I don't think I got to finish it.
  6. Hello Skuare, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Good thing that you have the paid version of Mbam; otherwise those malicious connections wouldn't be getting blocked. It is highly likely that you are still infected. Please read the following so that you can finish getting your system cleaned up: Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. 7. Uh, I must be missing something here, totally unclear on what C4 is?
  8. Personally I do not like them pop tops. I usually find them harder than using a can opener and sometimes the dern thing breaks off awkwardly when you are trying to pop it off!
  9. Please see here regarding Sunbelt & Malwarebytes http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=237369
  10. Iobit did indeed steal the Malwarebytes database & intellectual property; http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=29681 http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=30989 http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=33217 Louis James & dazgoby Malwarebytes has NOT been hijacked to my knowledge. dazgoby; it sounds as though you are infected and have a fake antivirus/fake antimalware application on board. 11. I have cut myself at least once opening the dern things. Not to mention that they are extremely frustrating!!! I even had to throw out a ring of shrimp one time because I couldn't get it open in time. I squirted myself in the eye trying to open it too!
  12. That is correct, Malwarebytes cannot be run from a USB drive or a CD. It's setup file & rules.ref can be saved on a USB drive or a CD as noknojon outlined, but not run from them; Malwarebytes needs to be installed on the PC in order to work.
  13. http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=246926 You didn't reply to AdvancedSetup in your last HJT/Malware removal thread...
  14. Thank you!!!! Chicken noodle soup is SOO good I need to have some soon. I'm feeling better - just got a sniffly/runny nose currently
  15. This is so bizarre! I'm glad that its seemed to be cleared up now, though.
  16. Hmm. Did anything else occur, such as any system changes, around the time it stopped working?
  17. This is really weird. Hmmm. I logged into my Hotmail on a Vista recently w/ Firefox and had no issues. When did this start and for how long has it been happening?
  18. Hmm, I don't know, but that might be it! If the .net Framework needs an update, you should update it. Are you talking about an update on .net framework for your machine though or for Firefox? I've disabled any Firefox plugins with .net framework assistant in them due to a past-reported security issue with them. I haven't upgraded my Firefox yet but when I do I'll post back here and report. I am waiting another month or so before I upgrade. As 3.5.x is supported till August of this year, I am not concerned about upgrading quite yet.
  19. Catscomputer, I didn't catch that before! You are indeed right! Malwarebytes does NOT detect tracking cookies.
  20. Hello jhakie, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Unfortunately it seems as though you may have part of an infection lingering still.
