IP Blocks Regardless of Being Online
mountaintree16 replied to -Sal-'s topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Skype isn't a P2P program. If you don't have Skype open, or a browser, are you still getting these IP blocks? Have you been infected recently that you know of? If so, please do the following as you are probably infected: Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page, as this makes the forum easier to read. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Thank you -
yay! Well, I have a simple TracFone. Calls, text, and will do email, but limited to the same length as a text. No pics, no web. Tried to find the same for hubby but his does web, but only if you enable it. I don't want one that goes online, and if I do get one like that, I won't opt for that as part of my plan. No need to quote me though, I know you're replying to me!

is it necessary to turn on windows firewall when you have anti
mountaintree16 replied to kangaroo's topic in General Chat
I do not like Comodo firewall one bit & I think that the Vista & 7 firewalls are quite good. -
Hi Cdog and welcome! I personally use Firefox the most, as I prefer it. It isn't necessarily any safer than Internet Explorer BUT if you use the add-ons NoScript and AdBlockPlus then that will make for a much safer Firefox experience. I use Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, and Orca Browser, but primarily Firefox and then Internet Explorer. I would primarily use Opera browser actually but unfortunately on my computer memory lows and then large spikes, off and on, occur so I can't really use it very often on my current computer. As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of to page. Thank you!

Malware Bytes Freezes
mountaintree16 replied to Super Sarge's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Just do as much or as little as you can. The malware is most likely preventing Mbam from working & scanning properly. -
That looks like quite the amazing view Ron

How long are older versions supported?
mountaintree16 replied to Ibrad's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Thanks for the clarification, Ron, I wasn't sure if the change had been made yet to support older versions with current database updates, but now I know! -
I hope I'll be lucky enough to see a launch one day. Welcome home Atlantis, and well done!

How long are older versions supported?
mountaintree16 replied to Ibrad's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
As of right now, as far as I know, they are supported until the new version comes out. For example, 1.46 (current version) is supported until 1.47 is released. If this is incorrect I am sure someone will be along to correct me -

New bug in the drivers
mountaintree16 replied to Aaron.Walkhouse's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows
Aaron.Walkhouse, I may be mistaken, and it seems as though you know perfectly well what you are doing and that it works for you, and that your SP1 is out of date, but, it seems as though most software, including security software, has a minimum requirement of SP2 in order to work on XP. -
You're welcome! Ohh rats. But did you set the browsers as default by going into options via each browser (and NOT setting it at default only when asked by the pop-up prompt?) Hmm, do you have any recent restore points that will work?
