  1. You are so very welcome! You'll be in good hands, and good luck!
  2. Okay, unfortunately you are more likely than not still infected by something that may be blocking its removal by Mbam and/or Symantec (and Malwarebytes is doing its job by blocking the malicious IP's, so its a good thing that you have the paid version of Mbam ), so I highly, highly recommend the following: Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Thank you
  3. Have you been infected recently that you know of?
  4. Alrighty. Please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page when replying. Are you running any P2P programs? LimeWire, BitTorrent, uTorrent, Vuze, etc...?
  5. Malwarebytes blocks a website or is this happening when you are not actually browsing the web?
  6. Hello Chansmom, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org You've come to the right place! Please read the following to complete the cleaning process: We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. 7. Hello musicalcowboy, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org That isn't a full log, looks like you forgot to include the top portion of it. At any rate, please re-post your log here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showforum=7 After following these directions: Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. 8. IDKWatMyDisplayNameShoudBe, Please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page in the future when replying. Malwarebytes protects from Malware. This does include protection from SOME viruses but it is NOT an anti-virus program. Please see the official info page here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php So Malwarebytes should be used with a good anti-virus program. Many anti-virus programs also include protection from some spyware, but Malwarebytes does NOT protect against JUST spyware.
  9. Ah, gotcha. So it HAS been running in realtime, then? Great! Did you update to version 9.0 from 8.5 already? Also have you added exclusions for AVG to Mbam? http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?a...&pid=167851 I thought CCleaner might help! I got some IP blocks one time and it kept up after I closed out of the site and sometimes when I didn't have a browser open (I think so anyway) and my Mbam scan had come up clean so once I ran CCleaner it helped, so I thought that that might help you too! If you do keep getting them though when you aren't using a browser and/or its not a specific website, please do refer to these directions: Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. 10. Was looking for some clip-art pictures, and I found this site from Microsoft! http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/clipart/default.aspx I guess I can't use it as I don't have any part of a Microsoft Office Suite or the other two things they mention at present, but they do have some really nice clip art!
  11. SwanDog, That's true, I hadn't realized that it wasn't quite an attack -- yet -- but after I read your post a second time then I understood that. Anyway, hopefully this doesn't get worse. Thanks for the reply
  12. Thanks SwanDog for the alert Will re-alert I'm tellin' ya, one of these days.... FB will just have to go for me... Edit: Apparently there's an error on FB... can't even post a note about this... ::grumble:: So I posted a status update. Second Edit: One of my friends has already fallen victim... but she has a Mac, so hopefully this isn't targeting Macs (yet anyway...).
  13. The Hillbillies are awesome!!
  14. Thanks Melboy, I stand corrected. I was unaware of that and I will check out that relationship.
  15. Thanks sho-dan! I did a Scroogle of free music note pics and I found it
  16. Now now, no need to get all riled up. Different people have different preferences for products (both for computer software and not)... if you prefer BitDefender, that's great! Not everyone does, but no need for anyone to get all worked up over it.
  17. Thanks for the alert. Just... disgusting.
  18. Well, what do you mean you haven't seen AVG since the reformat? It is running in realtime in the taskbar? I actually don't recommend AVG anymore. I would recommend Avira or Microsoft Security Essentials for you if you are looking for a free AV solution, if you would like to switch. I can give you links for those if you'd like. I used to use AVG but no longer! (that's my screen shot picture, hehe). Why did you need to reformat? How long ago did you reformat?
  19. Hi Sal, You're welcome CCleaner also clears out Chrome temp files too It clears out a lot more than just temp internet files though... unnecessary system temp files, flash files, etc... I use it daily I'll see what I can find out about Vimeo - I don't know anything about it currently. I should have asked you this before -- what are you using for an anti-virus program? Goodnight, we shall continue tomorrow
  20. Hm. And no other applications are open and no websites are open at the time? If so, then you may be infected. Please be advised though that you will most likely be asked to remove your P2P app whilst receiving help as it is malware removal forum policy and that P2P usage is a major source of infection and re-infection. That being said, here is my canned Malware Removal Forum advice for you: Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. 21. Are they closed out completely though or are they still running in the background even if you aren't currently using them?
  22. Hello Souichirou, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Are you using any P2P apps such as uTorrent, BitTorret, LimeWire, Vuze, etc...? As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page. Thank you
  23. You're welcome Sal Hmm. Do the random pop ups happen before or after you've visited Vimeo? I want you to clear out your temp files with CCleaner to see if that might help with these IP block pop ups. Let me know if you have any questions about how to use it before you use it! Download CCleaner from here to clean temp files from your computer. Double click on the ccsetup file to start the installation of the program. Select your language and click OK, then click Next. Read the license agreement and click I Agree. Click Next to use the default install location. Click Install then click Finish to complete installation. Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program. On the "Windows" tab, under "Internet Explorer," uncheck "Cookies" if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit). If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for "Cookies" is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla. Also, please uncheck "Recycle Bin" under "System" if you do not wish to have that emptied w/ CCleaner. Also check to make sure you uncheck anything else that you do not want cleared. Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced." deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 24 hours." Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program. Caution: It is not recommended that you use the "Registry" feature unless you are very familiar with the registry as it has been known to find legitimate items for removal, which can cause issues with other programs. After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit. Let me know if you still get blocks randomly after running CCleaner.
  24. Nikki, The quick scan is designed to catch active malware. Typically the only thing that the full scan finds that the quick scan doesn't is traces of already-dead/removed infections and/or items in the system restore (showed as system_volume in scan results) area of your computer, which can no longer harm you computer unless you use an infected restore point. The quick scan should be all that you need to remove active malware from your system, the full scan is not needed for this. That being said, if you believe you are infected, please do follow gtyhfy's directions above. Also, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page when replying. Thank you
