  1. I didn't really think it was anything to do with Symantec but I thought that that might help them get along anyway. Sorry I couldn't really be helpful here Please email one of the contacts that I gave to you
  2. Please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page when replying I'm wondering if something deeper is going on here... Please try the following to exclude Malwarebytes from your Symantec (I am going to give you a few links and directions and you can see what works for your particular Symantec). For Most New Norton Products Add exclusion to Auto-Protect and Risk scan 1 Start your Norton 2010 product. 2 In the Computer pane, click Settings. 3 Under Exclusions, next to Scan Exclusions, click Configure. 4 If you want to exclude a file from scan, under Scan Exclusions, click Add. 5 Browse and select the disk drive or folder or file you would like to exclude and click OK. If you want to include subfolders within the folder, check Include Subfolders. 6 If you want to exclude a file from Auto-Protect, under Auto-Protect Exclusions, click Add. 7 Browse and select the disk drive or folder or file you would like to exclude and click OK. If you want to include subfolders within the folder, check Include Subfolders. 8 Click Apply > OK This link for AVG but can apply to most other AV products as well: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?a...&pid=167851 This link for Norton 360 but you still might find it useful: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?a...&pid=215158 If nothing there works, I suggest you contact one of the following email addresses for support and include your order number in your email: Home User: support@malwarebytes.org Business or any other type of corporate user: corporate-support@malwarebytes.org
  3. @agilebrainz Did you install it under an administrator account and make sure that start protection module with Windows is checked off? in the interface? What AntiVirus program are you using?
  4. Just to add onto the information that noknojon gave you, Malwarebytes is designed to work alongside a good antivirus program. While nothing catches 100% of infections 100% of the time, using Malwarebytes in real-time along with a good anti-virus program will significantly reduce your risk of getting hit by a nasty. Malwarebytes is excellent at stopping rogue antivirus/rogue antispyware programs from getting in, yes. As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page.
  5. Hmm. Are you on a second machine right now? If you think you may have been infected, please follow the directions below. Otherwise, let's wait and see if someone else may have an answer for you, I have no idea what to do if resetting the router and the other things you did don't work. Comcast wasn't able to figure out what it was either, huh? Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Thank you
  6. Hi Jake, Please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page when replying When you said you were playing around with it, what were you playing with? Also, have you been infected recently to your knowledge?
  7. Did you try resetting the modem/router?
  8. heh heh yes it is the truth... lol
  9. Oh, and at least Virus protector admits that it has performed an illegal operation
  10. Thanks for posting this sho-dan, It's so sad that you even had to though, I can't believe that people are doing that/still doing that. I've read about many instances of it about it last year, the year before... and so on. So tragic. Children (and pets too!!) should never be left alone in a car, especially when there are temperature extremes. And do they not realize that leaving children in a car with the windows up or barely down (heck even when they leave them all the way down its still too hot usually) the car heats up VERY, VERY quickly? I mean hello, if you leave your car in the heat with the windows up you get in & its hot and muggy... same thing when you leave kids in the car. Dehydration and the things that come along with that can and will happen very, very quickly. I hope that people wake up and stop doing these sorts of things. Get a baby sitter or bring your child in with you. If you are that dense to do this to your child then well maybe you shouldn't be having children. If you ARE the babysitter doing this, then you should never be allowed around children again, imo.
  11. Hey Andy, I was just wondering if you were able to get this resolved or not? I also had an issue with the .net 1.1 update not installing... With some help from Exile, I ended up just uninstalling it, reinstalling it, and updating until there were no more updates. I had no issues after re-installing and checking for updates.
  12. You're very welcome!!! I'm glad that all went well!!
  13. You're welcome! It wouldn't hurt to email them anyway just to let them know what's going on.
  14. You're welcome Oh, I am not sure what you should do in that case then but I'm sure it'll be fine. Please contact support@malwarebytes.org and include your order number (if you have one, that is) and someone should be able to assist you
  15. Oops, one more thing I forgot, Kat. Please do the following on the old machine prior to installing and registering it on your newly-built one: 1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel. 2. Restart your computer (very important). 3. Download and run this utility. 4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to). 5. Install Malwarebytes on your new machine & register it.
  16. Hello Kat and welcome! I typically grab my Malwarebytes download from here: http://majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html And no, you don't need to buy it again. If you need assistance with anything else, please just post.
  17. Rui, Okay. I was just wondering I'm happy with it the way it is for now Thanks again for your help!! YoKenny1, Well our computer works totally fine (although we do get frustrated with it sometimes, but for the most part its faster than it was and running well), its supported for almost another 4 years, so there's no need to get another one right now. Especially when there's not really the money for one right now.
  18. I love how two of the rogues tell you to update your Operating System and that it expects a newer version of Windows lol!
  19. Grey Fox, Please email support@malwarebytes.org and include your order number in your email, and they should be able to assist you.
  20. I do not work for Malwarebytes but I did just want to add, please ensure that @malwarebytes.org and @salesforce.com are not being blocked by your email server/provider. Oftentimes when people aren't hearing back from Malwarebytes, Corporate has found that their emails are being filtered into spam or are being blocked erroneously as spam.
  21. Really? Personally I find the Facebook thing on websites these days really annoying and I make sure I am not logged into Facebook when I am on other websites. But, if you're going to do that, that's cool, I just find it annoying (in general, on any website). Seems like Facebook is trying to take over the Internet, lol
  22. Thanks for getting back to me and letting me know, Rui If it helps you any, I have an XP Home, SP3 system that I am using it on. I had an oldish version of my hosts file, so I ran that, then I updated HostsMan, used merge, and my disabled list is back, I only had to disable one other thing to get it back the way it was. I'm glad that I had that. Do you have an idea of when the next version might be out? Just curious because I would love to be able to overwrite and keep my disabled list It's okay though, I am perfectly content using merge
  23. Well I know of a website that converts youtube videos to mp3 songs that you then download to your computer (you download the converted mp3 that is) that friend told me about but I don't know how legal or anything it is and if I should post it here or not. Edit: Just went to mentioned site above and got an IP block but the site itself still loaded fine but I do have advertisements blocked so I don't think it was an advertisement... anyway I am extremely wary of those types of sites anyway and I certainly don't go looking for them.
  24. Rui, Thanks No worries, like I said I am in no hurry and I greatly appreciate your assistance and help here If you need any other information about this, be sure to let me know!
