  6. Hello braveheart2009, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Please follow the directions below to clear out unnecessary temp files and thus speed up quick scanning time. Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune (just click the red link). Please see this link here on how to use it: http://www.atribune.org/index.php?option=c...5&Itemid=25 If you don't wish to have your Recycle Bin emptied, make sure to uncheck that before you clear everything I use ATF cleaner daily or at least once a week. My Malwarebytes quick scan typically takes between 6-9 minutes. Full scan takes about an hour and a half lately, but I haven't done one in a long while. Of course, it depends on computer age, number of files, etc... Full scans are almost never needed; basically what they find are leftovers from already-dead infections and/or items in the system restore area of your computer which cannot harm your computer unless you use an infected restore point.
  7. @goldhound Ah. You should get a TracFone if and when you're ready to switch. Cost is low as $20 every three months, and that gets you 60 minutes and 90 days of service. As long as you keep your phone service active, buying a card every 90 days then the minutes you have on there stay put and you don't lose them from month to month. Oh wait, you're in Canada... I am not sure if TracFone is in Canada...
  8. That's alright, and your choice I wanted the extra protection (a layered approach) and also I purchased to support Malwarebytes
  9. Hi giofio Well it is very possible to run an antivirus and an antimalware/spyware application such as Malwarebytes together without issues, and many people do just that. Typically any issues between the two can be resolved by adding exclusions to the antivirus program for the antimalware/spyware program. I run an AV and Mbam together, have added the necessary exclusions to my AV, and they work together very nicely and there are no conflicts. It is true though, that you should never run two anti-VIRUS applications together as they can conflict and also lower your system security.
  10. Hehe same here goldhound, just a simple pre-paid (in terms of minutes) phone for me that makes calls and texts, and a simple game on it for when I am bored That's all I want and need in a cell phone
  11. Hehe well it's about time eh? That's good new, Shy
  12. Please also see the information below, sometimes email replies aren't received due to email/software settings not allowing emails from Malwarebytes to get in. http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=274586
  13. Not cool. For such an expensive product with an expensive monthly plan, you'd think their quality control would be so much better. (IMO this should be the case regardless even if your product is at a modest price and plan, but with pricier you'd think that quality would go up...) Apparently not.
  14. docweathers, I am glad that it has stopped for now but if it persists and you think you may be infected, please follow the directions below: Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page, as this makes the forum easier to read. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Thank you
  15. @ spotthedalmatian, By NAV, do you mean Norton AntiVirus? They shouldn't conflict, but it is highly recommended to add exclusions to your AV for Mbam so that conflicts do not occur. Some products definitely should have exclusions added so that conflicts do not occur. "Is there a version that will run prior to windows boot in case one is locked out of safe mode?" At present, no, there is not, if you mean Malwarebytes.
  16. Wow. I am kinda iffy on Dells just because I've had a few issues with them, but this is the icing on the cake... next computer won't be a Dell! Thanks for posting the article, Goldhound
  17. I am female though by the way. You have yourself a great day too!
  18. All is well and back to normal Thanks again!!
  19. Thank you Shy I should have specified though, I meant to. I disabled all three; address bar, bookmarks tool bar, and the other one. Right clicking hasn't been working eh heh.
  20. I temporarily disabled my address field bar from view and now I can't remember how to get it back... any ideas anyone? I did this once before but I figured it out but now I am at a loss.
  21. Hi docweathers, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Were you infected recently that you know of or think it may have been possible that you were infected? Are you running any P2P apps (such as LimeWire, Vuze, BitTorrent, etcc...) in the background when these IP blocks occur? As for the question at the end of your post, when using the IP/Website blocker feature, I recommend extreme caution when adding an IP to the exceptions list. You might want to post in the False Positives forum on this board to see if it is a False Positive. If it is not, you will at least be able to get some insight into why its being blocked. As a side note, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page when replying. Thank you
