  1. Glad to hear that things seem to be well again, whatmeworry? Have you re-added exclusions for to your AV for Mbam by the way?
  2. Welcome, RC_Pilot I'm glad that Mbam has helped you out and that you have it actively protecting your system. Enjoy your stay here, and just post if you have any questions or concerns about anything
  3. Just adding here that I haven't personally been experiencing any system slowdowns since updating Mbam to 1.45. In fact, my computer seems to be faster than its been in a long time.
  4. I've used AVPTool by Kaspersky twice now and I find it pretty easy to use
  5. That's alright John. I hope you're not infected I'm glad that you've come up clean in scan. Did you scan with Mbam? If so, do you have the free or paid version? Because I was going to say if you have the paid version, if you are getting random IP blocks for what appears to be no reason, you could be infected and should visit the malware removal forum. You're welcome. I got a random link sent into my hotmail from an online friend that I think is probably infected I need to email him to tell him but if his email is hacked as well (I have no way of knowing) then the hacker might get the info and not him. He's also sent me offline messages with malicious links before :/ Not intentionally of course.
  6. I agree Buttons. All should be fair. Hopefully this stops soon... Does anyone know though, if that is an official Avast! site (the one that APACHE gave the url to). It would seem if it redirects it might not actually be an Avast! url?
  7. Here too. Did a bit of Googling with the URL you gave, you may want to take a look at the top hit (Avast! blog).
  8. Hello dan323, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org AVG and Malwarebytes should get along, but you should add these exclusions to AVG for Malwarebytes, found here, to prevent any possible freezing issues. Also, AVG has had some issues off and on lately having their software get along with Malwarebytes, but, hopefully this isn't an issue currently. (I am not quite sure if is an issue currently, someone currently using AVG might know though so if they do I am sure someone may jump in here). I used to use AVG 8.5 and Mbam in realtime together and I didn't have any issues with them. As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page. Hope that helps and feel free to post if you have any further questions!
  9. You're welcome! I don't think its hopeless! I'm sure they'll be able to explain things so that you can understand them. Malwarebytes is a great program to have protecting your computer, I know I'll never go without it again! If you are unable to get it to work though, I'm sure you'll be able to get a refund.
  10. Mind de-quoting me, Buttons? Anyway, aren't they neat! I had no idea why they were called floppys until then lol! I think our Windows 95 computer had like 500 MB total of harddrive space or something, now its like insane how many GB are present
  11. Maybe its on its last legs, Buttons :) How much hard drive space does each have, just out of curiosity? One of my teachers had us use an original floppy as a bathroom pass. hehe
  12. Thank you Steve Please exclude Malwarebytes from Trend Micro as outlined here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?a...&pid=162099 And let me know if that does the trick for you
  13. Hello bkoopers, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org We actually offer FREE malware removal assistance, so no need to pay anyone to do it for you or do it yourself if you don't know what you are doing. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button or erase what the person you are replying to said, as this makes the forum easier to read. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. In addition to the above, you should post the contents of your original post into your new topic in the Malware Removal forum so that your helper will have a background of what happened up until this point. Thank you
  14. Hello steveoreno88, and welcome to the forums at Malwarebytes.org What anti-virus software are you running? I suspect that this may be the cause of your lock-up. As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page. Thank you
  15. Karin, If you'd still like to try to get Malwarebytes working (and it would be a good idea to), please e-mail support@malwarebytes.org and they will be happy to assist you with this issue.
  16. You're welcome! Great Avast! would be a good choice If you have any questions about it, their forum is here and also YoKenny1, one of our regulars here, uses it and is very knowledgeable about it as well Also, it would not hurt to add exclusions to Avast! for Malwarebytes as outlined here. Even though its not AVG, the same files should be excluded Let us know if you have any other questions!
  17. Thanks I thought it was well-written and well-explained too! Now I just need to inspect my computer and see if I can do it I need some more RAM I think... hehe. When time and funds allow, that is.
  18. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/setup/addmemory.aspx Just found this when I was searching for information on adding more RAM, and I thought I would share
  19. You are most welcome! Exile360 does explain it a bit better here if you'd like to take a look: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?a...&pid=222038
  20. Hello PedroHin The (recommended quick) scan should typically be run from an administrator/main account, but it is a good idea to run a scan on other/limited accounts as well because as you found, those can contain (inactive) registry leftovers that should be removed
  21. I really like Kaspersky & Avira. I haven't had any personal experience with Avast! thus far, but from what I've read & heard about it it sounds like a great AV
  22. ah! Well, when you register it, it should, by default, start protecting right away/start with Windows. Make sure the active protection is in place via you altering the settings for that, and then restart your computer. Do you have any questions about any of the Antiviruses mentioned thus far?
  23. You should probably contact someone at Microsoft or Hotmail about this to see if they might know what's going on. However, if you do feel that you are infected, please read the following: Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here.
