  1. Hello One_Winged_Angel, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Please read the following so that you may begin the cleaning process : We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button or erase what the person you are replying to said, as this makes the forum easier to read. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Thank you

  4. Hello pappystocker1, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org Did you have Malwarebytes (mbam) registered already on the HD that died? As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page. Thank you
  5. You're very welcome sayso! I'm glad that you were able to successfully install & resister Malwarebytes
  6. sayso, Are you still in contact with the person you gave your computer to? If so, you need to have them do the following: 1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel. 2. Restart your computer (very important). 3. Download and run this utility. 4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to). 5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here.
  7. I'm not getting fed up with you Brian. I just don't know where to go from here and since I do not know I should not be trying. You'll be taken care of from here, and again, good luck & you're welcome!

  9. Brian, That stinks I hadn't heard of that happening in Vista. Do you have any other security software that might need exclusions set for Mbam as well? Such as a software firewall or something? I think the best thing for you to do would be to email support@malwarebytes.org and include your order number as well. I'm sorry that that happened to you You're welcome & good luck with this -Mountaintree16
  10. Hmm. Try posting your issue in the PC Help forum, someone should be able to assist you. Me though, unfortunately I have no idea Only thing I can think of is did you make sure to add exclusions to all your security softwares for each other?
  11. @YoKenny1 I check the Google page once in a while even if I am not using it, I like the logos that they do sometimes and I usually learn something too

  13. He just meant that you should use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page, not that you shouldn't reply
  14. DLGolfs, Oh, okay. I just wasn't sure what Kerio was. Oh! I thought Avira had an e-mail scanner. Maybe just the paid version does. Are you using the free or paid version? Well, looking at Avira's website here, I see some MailServer items... take a peek at their products and see if something might work for you. Not sure if they are free or not, though. http://www.avira.com/en/products/index.php Hopefully someone else will have some ideas about an email scanner, as I don't really know much about it since I pretty much use web-based emails instead of something like Outlook or Thunderbird. As for the email thing costing 44 cents per email, probably a joke, I've heard that off and on for years and it hasn't happened yet.
  15. Hi DLGolfs Avira and Malwarebytes usually get along beautifully, although some people have been having issues between Avira and Mbam in realtime lately. This with version 10 of Avira. If you are still using version 9, there shouldn't be an issue. However, support for version 9 will end at some point, but I don't know when that is. That being said, you should follow the directions here for excluding Malwarebytes from your Avira. Even though you don't use AVG, the exclusion files are the same. Mbam runs nice and light in the background. I hardly notice it. All I need to see is the red & white M in the lower right of my task tray and I'm good to go hehe. Mbam does NOT have an email scanner. Doesn't Avira have one? What is Kerio? As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page. Thank you
  16. hahah Usually I Scroogle it http://www.scroogle.org/scrapen8.html At least for regular web searches. Unfortunately Scroogle doesn't do pictures, at least not yet.
  17. haha yeah I first saw that in Ron's post - first 10 replies get free Mbam. Then I went to Google after that this morning and clicked on the Topeka (where Google usually is), which brought me to the same link Ron posted. Then, I found another link on that page. Apparently they unofficially changed their name to Google until the end of March? Interesting article, check it out
  18. You're welcome Not that I endorse p2p usage, but just as long as you are aware of the risks and are as careful as you can be to not get infected and spread infection to others.
  19. Oh, okay. hehe, just thought I'd ask. First option doesn't sound too bad though, depending on how long it would take. I think I'll just stick to my orange, although it is good to know that its possible... hehe
  20. I was just wondering if it is possible to change the color of an item on the taskbar from blinking orange when its ready/needs attention to another color? XP SP3

  22. Hi Brian You're welcome Too bad you didn't check here when that was announced on their forum, since you've been missing out on great protection No worries though, now you're all set. I'm glad that I could help I'm sure Microsoft was just being precautionary, which is understandable. Ah, okay Sounds like a neat program! I was just wondering because if it was a security application, you might need to enter exclusions in that as well, but I don't think that's the case here. Any more questions, just post!
  23. Hello Brian67 Have you read the tutorial here on how to exclude Mbam from MSE? And actually, most of the freezing has been in Windows XP computers, not Vista or 7. You very well may have been able to use Mbam in realtime since you've bought it, but its good that you are trying it out now Antivirus companies will often tell you that their product can't be run in real-time with another product, and this is true between two antivirus programs. Two antivirus programs should NEVER be run together in realtime because they can conflict and even lower your system security! However, Malwarebytes is different, as its an anti-malware program that is great where an antivirus is not and Mbam is designed to work with your antivirus. That being said, sometimes you need to add exclusions in your antivirus for Malwarebytes, and even if there are no problems, adding exclusions can't hurt What's DiskKeeper2010 do?
  24. I wouldn't personally recommend CA. The following are my recommendations for antivirus protection along with links to downloads for them (free trials for those that require a purchase so you can try them before deciding): Kaspersky (free 30 day trial) The official support forum for this product can be found here Avira Antivir (free for home use) The official support forum for this product can be found here ESET NOD32 (free 30 day trial) The official support forum for this product can be found here Microsoft Security Essentials (free for home use) The official support forum for this product can be found here Avast! (free for home use) The official support forum for this product can be found here Note: If you decide to use one of the trial versions of one of the paid antiviruses then you will either need to purchase it or uninstall it completely and install a replacement antivirus before the trial expires so that your PC is not left unprotected. MSE Downloads: MSE for XP 32 bit MSE for Vista and Windows 7 32 bit MSE for Vista and Windows 7 64 bit Definitions Installers: Note: if installing the definitions in Windows Vista or Windows 7 you MUST right click the definitions installer and select Run as administrator and click Continue at the User Account Control prompt. 32 bit Definitions Installer 64 bit Definitions Installer Also, a good anti-malware program (such as Malwarebytes) should also be used in real-time to prevent being infected. Are they running XP, Vista, 7? As a side note, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button at the bottom of the page
  25. FinnishSaint, I'm sure you are already aware of the dangers of torrent usage, but in case you are not, or if you would like some reading, please see these topics: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=172812 http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?s...st&p=165284
