  1. Hello Shane, Please click here to send a private message to RubbeR DuckY with your details.
  2. I definitely plan to test it, unfortunately I haven't had the time yet. Edit: I completed my test scan yesterday I will however have time tomorrow and I shall be testing it then As for what noknojon said, it is a good idea to be wary of certain types of emails, however, emails from Malwarebytes when you have signed up to get emails and/or have joined the beta testing program, are much more likely than not legit I think it would be pretty easy to tell if it was legit or not, personally.
  3. @ Buttons You're welcome I just hope I didn't confuse anyone with my wording, I had to edit it 3-4 times before I finally got it right. I think it is explained quite well now, hehe.
  4. Hello Marv1988, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org By any chance, have you previously used your license on another computer?
  5. In versions 1.44 and prior, the database was listed in KB, and instead it is now listed in MB, and I am pretty sure that this would account for the apparent large increase in download size if you are unfamiliar with conversion from KB to MB. Of course, over time, the size of the database will increase anyway, due to the addition of new threats that are being detected.
  6. You are most welcome, Danny If you have any questions about the program or anything else, please feel free to post! That being said, please make a post here if you have not already
  7. AV software is extremely important, Danny. You still need to visit the Malware removal forum to see what may have been on your system. Since you've gone unprotected for three years and had over 30,000 detections by Malwarebytes, who knows what is on there. Antimalware protection is recommended as well, and I do recommend a purchase of Mawarebytes Anti-Malware if you are able to. It's a one-time cost of $24.95 for one home user, and if you have more than one machine to protect at home, there are discounts available for multiple license purchases. It also gets along quite well with Microsoft Security Essentials, although the paid version of Mbam in XP does need exclusions added. In Vista/7, these exclusions aren't usually needed but can't hurt. Malwarebytes is a great partner with your anti-virus software Exclusion directions for excluding Mbam from MSE can be found here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?a...&pid=181018
  8. Wow, you may just have a record there. Anyway, just follow Blaze's directions above!
  9. Personally, I would not like Mbam to detect my HOSTS file alteration just because I alter it myself with a HOSTS file manager. Also Kaspersky gives me several pop ups each day alerting me to the fact that my HOSTS file is changed. I appreciate it, and it is useful for the average user who may have no clue, but, I find it annoying. Only reason I find it annoying though is because I made the changes and I want it that way. At least I don't have it auto-fix it anymore hehe. That being said, it could be useful for those whose HOSTS file have been altered by malware to block them from updating their AV & AM software and prevents them from going to AV and security websites.
  10. hehe where do you see that John? I'd also like to know what DOG Detection is? How do they go about scanning ones dog? Excuse me if I am totally misunderstanding it, but, I've never heard of a DOG Detection feature in any security software product before.
  11. dolmanpete, I'd be pretty concerned using a machine that may or may not be fully clean from this rootkit and who knows what else to return taxes and also do anything else that requires transmission/entering of sensitive data. Is there another machine that is known to be clean that you might be able to use?
  12. Hello Hawes, If you are unsure, please read here: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=3228 Then post here. Thank you
  13. You're welcome Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. I'd be interested to know too, I'd like to make some cool icons too
  14. Well it's probably not exactly what you are looking for Buttons but I've used www.flamingtext.com off and on since mid-high school for logos. It's a pretty neat site
  15. Hello Sparrow13, and welcome to the forums here at Malwarebytes.org See if one of these topics might help you get Malwarebytes working correctly: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=6703 http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=39582 If not or if you think you may still be infected, Please read the following so that you may get Malwarebytes to work correctly and so that you may begin the cleaning process: We don't work on Malware removal in the general forums. Please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. One of the expert helpers there will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available. Please note that it may take 48 hours or more for you to receive a response in the malware removal forum, as it is often busy at times. Please do not reply to your own post asking for help unless its been more than 48 hours since you originally posted, as this can make it appear as though you are being helped and take longer for you to get help. If you are unable to do all or any of the steps in the link to the directions above, just post your problem into the forum I gave you a link to anyway and someone will be able to assist you. Also, when replying, please use the "ADD REPLY" button located at the bottom of the page, as this makes the forum easier to read. After posting your new post make sure under options that you select Track this topic and choose one of the Email options so that you're alerted when someone has replied to your post. Thank you
  16. Here here Catscomputer. Never will I ever use a product when I know that it stole from another, even if it has been corrected since. The damage has been done, in my opinion. I will also never recommend a product that has done the above mentioned, and if someone asks me what I think about a product that has done so, I am going to tell them
