  1. Hello, I seem to have recovered form a rather bad infection. The events leading to the infection was last night I received an email and supposedly from USPS for a parcel they could not deliver, click the link it said. I've got more sense than that I deleted the email. This morning when I turn the computer on their was a message advising me of an unsafe folder C;\PROGRAM and he said I should rename this to C;\PROGRAM-1. I deleted it because I know it should not have been there. Next thing I attempted to run Malwarebytes but it failed to run. Avast told me that it was disabled but it was not possible to turn it back on. I then went into safe mode. Malwarebytes still failed to run so I went into Chameleon. I went through all 13 options are Chameleon but every one failed. I could not do anything with Avast even on Safe Mode. After spending some time with this I ran System Restore and went back to an earlier restore point. Avast was now able to run and it immediately updated its definitions. No infection was found. Back to Malwarebytes, it still would not run in default mode or in Chameleon. I finally deleted it with Revo Uninstaller Pro and after rebooting the system I then reinstalled Malwarebytes. This time it ran but no infection was found. Everything seems to be OK now. I must admit that I have been left a little bit scared. I do not know what the infection was or even if it's lurking in the system somewhere that cannot be found. Is there any other action I now need to take and what reassurance can people give me. 2. Ron Thank you so much for your very prompt reply. I logged on again with my intention and also to compare each of the other Amazon sites. It did seem to affect every image and it resulted in me having a very large log file. This time however no images were blocked and that no warning balloons were being displayed. It just seems to be a mystery. I also ran a scan but nothing was found. Thank you and I guess the problem is resolved for now at the time being. I wonder if that that time something could be collecting some stats or something like that. Robert…

  4. Hello I don't know if this is a malware problem or not. Today when I come to use my computer I found that Free Download Manager was missing and I had not uninstalled it. So I went to run Malwarebytes which I always do when there is the slightest hint of a problem, but it too was missing. I reinstalled it and it would seem like the definition files were there. I am running this on Windows 7 64 bit Professional. My virus scanner is Avast. As long as I haven't got any undetected malware on board, although I've never found programs on installing themselves.
