Can't Uninstall NCH Suite (VideoPad Video Editor)
Liquid replied to anastacia's topic in General Windows PC Help
Yes, it uses the program's own uninstaller. Then it presents you with a list of any leftovers and registry entries that the uninstaller might have missed. You can then choose from the list, what you want it to remove. So long as you follow the recommendations and only choose the bold text items to remove, you should have no problems. -
Can't Uninstall NCH Suite (VideoPad Video Editor)
Liquid replied to anastacia's topic in General Windows PC Help
If it still appears in Add/Remove programs, you could try the free version of Revo Uninstaller: https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html The advanced mode searches for leftovers and registry entries and allows you to choose what to remove. It's a while since I had VideoPad installed, but I thought NCH was a reputable company. Your system slowing down is more likely something else. -
No problem. And wow, that was a quick response! Thanks, thisisu

Hi, I'm getting what I believe are false positives for some Native Instruments setup files and reg keys. These have been on my system for a while and have never been detected before. Native Instruments are a reputable company that sell audio software plugins. I downloaded them with the official Native Access installer. I checked each of the 24 detected items (identified by MBam as malware) and decided to cancel the quarantine. Here are the web pages for the two products that were identified: https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/synths/mikro-prism/ https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/effects/solid-eq/ I have attached the scan log and the files that were detected. I didn't include the reg keys, but I checked them all. They are all related to the detected files. MBam_Scan-Report_11-11-2017.txt False-Positives_Files.zip

I don't think it's political or a big brother tactic. it's actually the opposite. If you read the thread Firefox linked to (above) you'll see that MBam are letting the people decide what should or shouldn't be considered a potentially unwanted program. It's only classifying certain software as "potentially" unwanted. Not as malware. And although some reg cleaners have a good reputation, there are a many more that would be considered "definitely" unwanted, by users, if they knew what was really going on behind the reg cleaning, optimizing facade. And from what I can see, it's not targeting all reg cleaners, only those which have a poor reputation. I have CCleaner installed and it passes the PUP detection unscathed. But if it were to be flagged as a PUP, I would just add it to the exclusions - since I know I want to keep it. To me, this is far better than having a more forgiving PUP detection, which may actually let bundled garbage pass through undetected.

Protection keeps turning off... V3.1.2
Liquid replied to shaffyx's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Well, that didn't take too long to fix. All is working fine now. Those people who fled the scene in a blind panic... you can come back now -
Yes, very happy so far. And thanks. I can't really recall, but my original sig was most likely just a link with a small image. That's what I use on other forums. I was horrified to see a full size video in it's place Cheers

I see a video of mine has been added to my post as a signature. I don't remember doing that when I joined. But I can't remove it now, because it says I must have 50 posts to access the signature section in my profile. I did click "hide all signatures" but I don't know whether that just hides what I see, or whether it hides my sig from others as well. Admins please remove my sig for me. I don't want to look like I'm spamming the forum with every post. Thanks.

I've been a member for 5 years, but this is my first post. I just wanted to say thanks for the added features I am now getting with my lifetime licenses in MBam 3.0. I was quite surprised to discover that the Anti-Exploit and Ant-Ransomware were just added. I really didn't expect that. I thought I would have to buy yearly subscriptions if I wanted those as well. I only just installed version 3, so I haven't much to report. Other than to say - the install was smooth, the first scan was lightning fast and the footprint on resources with the added modules is, so far, unnoticeable. Thanks again. Malwarebytes is the best!

Using a single license of MBam on a multi-boot PC
Liquid replied to Liquid's topic in Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum
Thanks very much, daledoc1. I am not in a hurry, so I will wait for a staff confirmation, but it looks like it should be ok (and yes, this is just for a personal home computer). Cheers Liquid -
Hi, I recently installed a second OS (XP) on my PC. Am I allowed to install MBam Pro on that as well? I know that a separate licence is required if it is to be installed on another PC (I actually have 2 PCs and 2 licenses). But am I allowed to use a single MBam Pro licence on 2 separate installs of my OS, on the same computer? Thanks
