  1. There is nothing that we as endusers can do to fix the no update available issue. Its all up to Malwarebytes to get their update servers / maintenance complete however long that takes.
  2. Two hours after this maintenance was supposedly being performed and still having the Updates not current issue. MBam should know how long this maintenance should take unless its a unscheduled down time to fix an issue.
  3. I have Web Protection working but MBAM is still not set to auto start on Windows startup. Will have to give some thought on what I will be doing within our organization regarding MBAM. Pushing out an update to fix the issue was fine but if some machines were brought to their knees with the crap update that the machine was totally usable even with the update supposedly applied to MBAM. Only after disabling MBAM was the machine was back up and running.
  4. I have finally regained control of my system and got ESET Endpoint Antivirus reinstalled after uninstalling it due to its service refusing to startup and doing a complete system scan. I disabled MBAM from loading on boot up. I had to reorganize my entire desktop of icons since repeated booting into safe mode caused them all to wind up in one pile. For now MBAM will remain disabled on auto startup mode with Windows. I also noticed that Web Protection option remains disabled and can not be re-enabled. Is this in part due to MBAM being disabled on auto startup of Windows?
  5. How do I prevent MBAM from even starting on WIndows 7 bootup? I have exited via the task bar option but the application starts up automatically. Now I discovered ESET Endpoint Service is not able to start. I had to boot into safe mode and uninstall Eset Endpoint boot back into normal mode and reinstall and reactivate ESET..
  6. Even thoug MBAM shows 1.0.3804 the computer is unusable. I can't not close MBAM nor can I enable web protection on WIn7 x64 w 5GB RAM
  7. I have switched to Firefox Quantum recently and this morning I uninstalled an older 32bit version of Firefox since I am now using the x64 FFox as default browser. As soon as I did that MBam 3.3.1.2183 Component Package 1.0.236 Update Package 1.0.3282 started popping up alerts like the following Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 11/17/17 Protection Event Time: 9:02 AM Log File: 5c0d7eb0-cba8-11e7-9c4a-00ff486c33ab.json Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.3.1.2183 Components Version: 1.0.236 Update Package Version: 1.0.3282 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Website Details- Malicious Website: 1 , , Blocked, [-1], [-1],0.0.0 -Website Data- Domain: sr.symcd.com IP Address: 23.61.187.27 Port: [50848] Type: Outbound File: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
  8. Ok so seems perhaps this is a deifinition issue. Perhaps a false positive in code being used on multiple web services.
  9. SIgh ya exclusions in MBAM seem to be half baked. Seems I was using MBAM 2.x for years and never had all these issues as the 3.x builds have had. I don't know if this Googleapis.com is a definition issue but I sure hope it is. If its not I will be reverting back to an older version of MBAM. I use Feedly on multiple systems here.
  10. I used Feedly for my RSS reader. Using the web version here and up until today when I updated to 3.2.2 of MBAM I had no problem. Now when I go to my Feedly feeds which are stored in my Google account MBAM blocks access to storage.googleapis.com Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 8/29/17 Protection Event Time: 8:07 PM Log File: a265e5b8-8d1f-11e7-84a7-00ff486c33ab.json Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.2.2.2018 Components Version: 1.0.188 Update Package Version: 1.0.2685 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Website Details- Malicious Website: 1 , , Blocked, [-1], [-1],0.0.0 -Website Data- Domain: storage.googleapis.com IP Address: 172.217.9.80 Port: [64767] Type: Outbound File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe (end)
  11. So if I move this over to C: drive I will have no issue because even 3.1 had issues with the folder being on C: drive and i put up with it. No its not just one Nirsoft app its a series of apps from Nirsoft. I update all of them. This round it was Strun.exe, IEHV.exe and WirelessNetView.exe if they are downloaded to a directory that is not on C: drive then the exclusions in MBam are useless. I moved the folder where I stored them over to C: drive and deleted these same utils and after excluding this new C: folder in MBam the update of these 3 utils downloaded file.
  12. So if I move this over to C: drive I will have no issue because even 3.1 had issues with the folder being on C: drive and i put up with it.
  13. As I posted here with 3.1.2 I had a frustrating time with MBam automtically quarantining updates to Nirsoft package of utilities. These utilities are stored on a non C: drive. Well upgraded to 3.2 and the exclusion issue is still there Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 8/29/17 Protection Event Time: 10:28 AM Log File: ada67b50-8cce-11e7-b3e3-00ff486c33ab.json Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.2.2.2018 Components Version: 1.0.188 Update Package Version: 1.0.2682 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Malware Details- File: 1 PUP.Optional.StartUpManager, E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc\NirSoft Utils\strun.exe, Quarantined, [7060], [86117],1.0.2682 (end) I have the following folder exclusions set for Exclusion from protection of Malware or PUPs: E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\NirSoft E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc\NirSoft Utils Why is it that 3.2 is behaving the exact same way with exclusions? I regularly update these utils using the wscc free util and every time I do it I have try to restore these items from quaratine. Sometimes this restoration is not possible since MBam insists on making me reboot the computer.
  14. Arsenal123 had the exact same issue here. Upgraded from 3.1.x version said it had to reboot. Noticed at the time there was no Malwarebytes entry in Win7 x64 here. Turned the computer off. Today noticed no MBam systray icon. Reinstalled the upgrade and it worked this time.
  15. I am simply using the settings in MBAM this is being caught my the real time scanning as the updated file is being downloaded. Even moving the destination file location from E: to the user's desktop folder on C: and adding an exclusion for the entire folder over on C: drive does not have the automatic real time quarantining.
  16. I have concluded that the exclusions in Malwarebytes 3.1.2.1733 when it comes to excluding folders or files is useless. I had added exclusions to prevent MBam from automatically quarantining these util updates. Yet when I run the update today MBam again quarantines these same darn files. WHY? I was able to restore one of them but good old MBAM refuses to restore the two items shown because it requires me to reboot my computer so that it can permanently remove these files!! Needless to say I am getting fedup.
  17. Oh ok thanks that would explain why this is happening. I assume it does not work even though I specify the actual file name rather than folder like I have done. It would not be so bad if I could add the individual files to exclusion list and restore them out of quarantine but it automatically quarantines them and requires me to reboot at some time down the road.
  18. I use utilities from Nirsoft.net and download updates regularly using a utility called Windows System Control Center (WSCC). Even though I have set up exclusions for Malware and PUPs for the following directories: E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc\ E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc\NirSoft Utils MBAM insists in quarantine the SOME of downloaded updated files and it is darn annoying. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 7/25/17 Protection Event Time: 8:24 AM Log File: Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.1.2.1733 Components Version: 1.0.160 Update Package Version: 1.0.2433 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Malware Details- File: 1 PUP.Optional.StartUpManager, E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc\NirSoft Utils\strun.exe, Quarantined, [7959], [86117],1.0.2433 (end) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 7/25/17 Protection Event Time: 8:23 AM Log File: Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.1.2.1733 Components Version: 1.0.160 Update Package Version: 1.0.2433 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Malware Details- File: 1 PUP.Optional.HistoryTool, E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc\NirSoft Utils\iehv.exe, Quarantined, [8131], [86054],1.0.2433 (end) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 7/25/17 Protection Event Time: 8:24 AM Log File: Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.1.2.1733 Components Version: 1.0.160 Update Package Version: 1.0.2433 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Malware Details- File: 1 PUP.Optional.WirelessNetworkTool, E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc\NirSoft Utils\WirelessNetView.exe, Delete-on-Reboot, [16957], [299476],1.0.2433 (end)

  20. MBam quaratine these two utils that I was updating: Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 5/26/17 Protection Event Time: 1:48 PM Log File: Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.1.2.1733 Components Version: 1.0.122 Update Package Version: 1.0.2026 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Malware Details- File: 1 PUP.Optional.WirelessNetworkTool, E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc\NirSoft Utils\WirelessNetView.exe, Delete-on-Reboot, [16623], [299476],1.0.2026 (end) ------------------------------------------------------ Malwarebytes www.malwarebytes.com -Log Details- Protection Event Date: 5/26/17 Protection Event Time: 1:48 PM Log File: Administrator: Yes -Software Information- Version: 3.1.2.1733 Components Version: 1.0.122 Update Package Version: 1.0.2026 License: Premium -System Information- OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 CPU: x64 File System: NTFS User: System -Blocked Malware Details- File: 1 PUP.Optional.StartUpManager, E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc\NirSoft Utils\strun.exe, Quarantined, [7899], [86117],1.0.2026 (end) ---------------------------------------- I have folder exclusions for these two folders E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\NirSoft Utils - set for Malware and Potentially Unwanted Application E:\Downloads\Nasty Fixes\wscc - was set for Malware, Ransomware and PUP which I have set to Malware and PUP only My question is why did the Exclusion filters not tell MBAM to ignore these files?
  21. Yup. Checked for updates manually. Tried enabling the Malware protection disabled itself. Rebooted the computer and the protection is enabled as it should be. There was a problem late last week regarding updates and they pushed out an update to fix that but heck that was 4 days ago
  22. I simply rebooted the computer here and the protection re enabled itself!
  23. Sigh booted up my machine and glanced down to the MBam icon and discovered the red triangle. Shortly afterwards I was told that Malware Protection was disabled. Tried enabling it and it immediately turns off.
  24. That is strange. The last time I scanned I did not force a rescan of the app and just looked at the results and they were all clean. I did the same thing just now and it showed the same results as your links showed.
