  1. Thanks. The last time I got an update for my phone was March 29th 2020. So I'm not sure if my phone got the patch for that weaknesses/exploit. I guess what asking is if someone got infected with malware that exploited this weaknesses would Malwarebytes be able to find it?
  2. Just recently I found about a new exploit in Android version 9 and below called StrandHogg 2.0. And I was wondering can Malwarebytes find and remove StrandHogg malware? https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/critical-android-bug-lets-malicious-apps-hide-in-plain-sight/
  3. I had a feeling he was full of bologna. Thanks that puts my mind at ease, and yes I'm aware that the licenses are only for one machine.😁
  4. I bought a lifetime license for MBAM back in 2010 back when the paid version of MBAM was called MBAM Pro. And I'm wondering how long are they good for? The reason I ask is because a friend of mine told me that there only good for around 10 to 20 years. Is this true?
  5. I use the Minds dot com social media app and yes I know its safe I've been using it for months now and no problems but over the past couple of updates Malwarebytes is unable to scan it after Minds does an update. Here's what VirusTotal has to say about the Minds app: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/3917709999ba4a230fc063fce229350810530c388f944f1e6c1c2f8162f37e87/summary as you can see its clean but for strange reason starting version 3.8.0 its been having this issue with Malwarebytes gets stuck when trying to scan it.
  6. No thanks I don't want to give out my email address or full name.
  7. I'm not sure if I'm putting this the right place but anyway here I go. Yesterday I got a scam email from finacenews dot org I viewed it but I didn't open it/view the remote content (or click on any of the links) in Mozilla Thunderbird also TB was sandboxed so I shouldn't have to worry about an infection not mention I'm a Linux user viewing this email from a non-admin account. But I just wanted to report this phishing scam. Here a screenshot of it:
  8. Thanks but I didn't even have to right click on Computer the D drive is my DVD drive. BTW is it possible to get an infection on a CD/DVD drive?
  9. Hi dual boot Linux & Windows I have Windows on one HDD and on another HDD I have Linux. Anyway I noticed a D drive in Malwarebytes when I was doing a custom scan and I was wondering if that might be my Linux HDD or not? I also have a printer hooked up to my desktop via USB.
  10. @ exile360 Thanks for the reply. ? Well I certainly hope it will be available everyone even if you have to pay to use the add-on.
  11. I really like your add-on and I'm wondering if it will continue to be available for everyone or will it only be available for MBAM users? The reason I ask is because I'm a Linux user and there isn't much antimalware products available for Linux, and of course this because malware is rare for Linux but its still nice to have something available for it. Heck I'd even be willing to pay about $2-5 a year for the add-on. PS: I use Firefox.
  12. I figured so. Well at least you can report the email address to the authorities.?
  13. Hi I like to report an suspicious email from yesterday, heres what it said.: Hello. Dont consider on my grammar, I am from China. We loaded our virus on your OS.Now I thiefted all personal data from your device. In addition I have some more evidence. The most amusing compromising which I have- its a videotape with your masturbation.I put malware on a porn web site and after you downloaded it. When you picked the video and clicked on a play, my deleterious soft instantly downloaded on your Operating System. After adjusting, your web camera shoot the videotape with you self-abusing, furthermore I captured the video you chose. In next few days my deleterious soft collected all your social and work contacts. Its obviously a scam because one thing I use Linux to surf the web and really don't touch free porn sites. And this person finishes by saying: If you desire to erase all the evidence- pay me 640 usd in BTC(cryptocurrency). I provide you my Btc address - 19U6ZoDKgaxHcnvNYXTeucpUWrMMav7PQE and hers there email address: order@santaclarashuttle.com
  14. So I don't send to myself so that I can copy and paste it to this forum but to the email given when I hit send to support?
  15. Hi I have a problem my Google account gets hacked every 3 to 6 months, and I'm pretty sure its spyware. You see I use to have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and I was trying out different News apps and Web browsers and somewhere along the I must have picked up some malware. Anyway about six months ago I got a new phone (Samsung Galaxy S8) hoping that would help me get away from the malware I mean I didn't use the Smart Switch Mobile to carry over my installed apps instead emailed myself my installed apps, but I also copied over the contents of my SD card to my new phones SD card and I'm %99 positive I didn't copy over the Android folder. Well just like then whenever scan with Malwarebytes it finds nothing, So whats going on here? Somehow someone is hacking my Google account fortunately the last hacks were automatically blocked by Google.
  16. Something I'm a little confused with is Malwarebytes 3 compatibility with antiviruses? Such as Avast? I checked under the FAQ I couldn't find a definitive answer.
  17. Can I make a suggestion? Could you make the future version of MBAM for Android update the database when you do a on demand scan?
  18. Something I've been wondering for awhile now is why MBAM free for Android doesn't have scheduled scans or automatic database updates anymore?
  19. No I haven't received any more text from that Gmail account because I blocked it under my call/text history. But the only the reason I suspect that I have an infection is because when I viewed this text it started download something even though I have my text app configured not to automatically download attachments also this was a plain text message. Its strange.
  20. Not so long ago I reported a strange text from a Gmail account a_Mbam told me that its probably a ad redirection text, and I'm just trying to figure out if I have an infection thats hiding itself as a system app. Heres a screenshot of some system apps that I'm not a 100% sure about.
  21. I had a similar issue on S5 when I first bought it, it downloaded some games and a cleaning app I just uninstalled them and I haven't seen any apps appearing since.
  22. Your welcome a_Mbam I just hope I didn't get infected with anything.
  23. Earlier today I got a text from undonations01gmail.com and I thought it was from Google at first glance, I should have paid a little more attention before opening the text because it starting downloading a multi media attachment even though I have my text app configured to not automatically download text attachments but I quickly backed out the text and deleted it. But its strange it appeared to be a plain text message with a hyper link. So I brought my phone to my cellular provider and they did a scan on it and they found nothing also they told me that its a good thing I have Malwarebytes installed because it can help block the download of malicious software. I just wanted to report that email address. Hopefully my phone doesn't act strangely over the next few days.
