  1. Hi Folks, My Anti-exploit protection stated telling me the "beta test version is done and I need to contact you guys for a new Updated version. I thought MB AE was part of the payware package of MB Anti-Malware. However, it's been a while since I look at this and I may have to pay for any continued service on this one, yes? At least, that's my guess but either way, would you let me know what I need to do if I want to continue the Anti-Exploit protection? Thank you, Rich
  2. Thanks very much! Please consider this question resolved. I just tried to 'cancel' a support ticket I had sent early this morning but it seems I can't do that, (at least, not until they reply). I should have thought to use the forum in the first place but that's what happens when I start my computer without having my coffee first. Rich
  3. Thank you daledoc1! I had to read that a few times before it sunk in, (I have no idea why I couldn't grasp it right off), and I know that I purchased the disc last year or maybe even sooner. Therefore, I believe have the "lifetime" Premium version. What brought my attention to this is an email ad I got from MB this morning. The opening paragraph said: "As a Malwarebytes fan, we're offering you a rare lifetime Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium license. While our very limited supplies last, you can get your best protection against new malware for only $24.95 for life. You’ll never pay another penny again for this license, and it’s updated free" That's when I suddenly realized I didn't know my status but it also revealed the fact that there isn't a way to check on this within the User Panel or at least in the form of a "Member Status" reference on the website... -OR-, I don't know where to look! Thanks again, I'm going to send a suggestion about that AFTER I double check on it! Rich
  4. Hi all, I recently became aware of the fact that I have forgotten what kind of terms are in affect for my licensed version of Malwarebytes Anti-malware. The word "Premium" is in parenthesis in the header of my MBAM user panel and I have version 2.0.2.1012. I can't find any info in my records that implies I have a "leased" version but then, I can't find anything that contradicts this possibility. Does anyone know how I could confirm that status? Thanks, Rich
  5. Thank you, but as you can see in the posts, we've already covered that and as I said, this was a question out of nothing but curiosity, but thanks again. Rich
  6. Thank you for clearing that up, (on both counts), Firefox!!! Rich
  7. Thank you daldoc1, I did indeed find the Knowledge Base section and that looks like one of the fastest ways I can learn and understand Malwarebytes better. I didn't know about the videos and I'll definitely be using those to help cut down some learning time. Thanks again, Rich
  8. By the way, I can't figure out how to go back and edit a post I had just posted in this website, LOL. Anyway, I meant to say that my last question was more out of curiosity and using the system tray method as you suggested is certainly what I would do. I'm just curious about that other method. Thank you, Rich
  9. Thank You! I guess what I'm going to do is allow Malwarebytes Pro to run and do its thing and just see what happens in the next few days. But are the first two items above the "Protection Enabled" green flag, (In the "Protection" tab), the two items that can turn on/off the program? That is, if I uncheck those two and the green flag goes red, have I effectively turned off Malwarebytes? Or do I have to uncheck everything in that panel if I wanted to do it that way? Thanks again, Rich
  10. It just occurred to me that I may already have Real-Time Protection turned on. So I went to try to turn it off and realized that I may not be able to. I ran a search in the help file manual but all it states is what real-time protection does, not how to turn it on or off. So… How do I turn it on or off? Thanks, Rich
  11. Hi folks, Well, I'm now a Malwarebytes Pro owner! I hope you can understand that I will only be able to dedicate a percentage of time each day to reading the manual because like most of you, I have a job and that job has a deadline. In fact, I write manuals and my deadline for the present manual I'm working on was three days ago. But because of a glitch in the program of the "powers that be", I've had a reprieve and need to take advantage of it. That said, I was wondering if you could tell me how hard Malwarebytes Pro will be on my computer's resources if I allowed it to run in real time while I'm doing what I do. What I do involves running Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 12, Adobe Acrobat XI, Microsoft Office 2010 Pro, Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended, and at least two or three browser pages opened in Google Chrome and all of them pretty much simultaneously. Obviously, all that puts a dent in the 16 GB of RAM I have and I was wondering if Malwarebytes Pro would be a significant resource user. I think I can adjust the real time scan by having it exclude many of the programs I have listed above, is that right? Thank you, Rich Windows 7 H.P. 64bit Asrock Z 77 Extreme 4 /16 gigs Ram /700W PSU /Intel i7 2600K /Radeon HD 7850PE /CPU cooling with Swiftech H220, (4) 120mm fans push/pull config) /OS drive: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB SATA 6 HDD
  12. Thanks Ron, I believe I've used up my 'trial' option months ago. In fact, I had accidentally activated it when I was updating the freeware version, if I remember correctly. But that's fine, I'm buying Malwarebytes today and when I get a chance I'll put it through a few tests but it's not a big concern for me at this point.
  13. Thank you! That's good news. I'm sure one of my exclusions will be MSE ! However, if someone posts their exclusion list, I certainly would be interested to see what they've done. It'll serve as a good example for me, that's for sure. Thanks again, Rich
  14. OK... um, it's MB that I'm asking about though. I guess another way to put the questions is; Can MSE and MB both operate in Real time protection mode simultaneously without disrupting each other? I’ve always understood that you can’t have two virus protection programs running at the same time, so I’m assuming the answer is “no”. But it doesn’t hurt to ask, right? Anyway, can they do that? Thanks, Rich
  15. Hi folks, It's been long overdue, but I'm finally going to break my 'glass piggy-bank' and by the pay ware version of MB. I have to admit that I'm short on details regarding the MB pay ware info and WILL be taking time to read all the additional things that it can do. But if someone can just tell me real quick if the MB pay ware will conflict with MSE, that'll help. Basically, I never paid attention if MSE and MB could run together and at the moment, MSE is my real-time protection. But as a rule, I've always understood that only one can have the real-time position if two exist. What I'm initially planning to do is continue to use MB in the way I use the freeware version now and then as I get a better understanding of how it works, I'll allow it to run in real-time. What I like about MSE is that I don't have to fuss with it much at all. I keep it updated, and run scans 3 to 5 times every 9 or 10 days on average. I don't revolve my schedule around the program and I like that. But MB freeware has found more trojans and viruses than MSE has and MSE has even missed some that MB didn't. I think there was only one time that MB missed something MSE had found but it was long ago and I can't even be sure of it. So as long as I don't have to 'spoon-feed' MB on some daily or tri-daily bases, I'll wind up putting MB in charge. So to repeat the question: Does MSE's Real-time have to be turned off if MB's Real-time is turned on? Thanks, Rich Windows 7 64bit Asrock mobo, Intel i7 CPU, 16GB RAM 700w PSU
  16. I ran a 'Quick scan' a few minutes ago and Malwarebytes said I have this "Stolen.Data" 'Scanner'. It shows a green check mark and Green Bug on the line and it points to this location: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\SAS7_000.DAT This may be linked a a 'simconnect' program, (I fly Flight Sims; FSX), so I don't want to be too hasty and delete it. In fact, I'm not so sure it's a problem at this point and that's why I'm posting here today. Thanks, Rich Windows 7 HP 64bit
  17. Hi folks, I'm sure you all know about viruses and Trojans that coming through a false claim that a postal delivery was attempted by FedEx but you weren't home so they gave you a receipt to download and then open so that you can go get your package. I was half asleep this morning and just happen to have a package on the way when I got this email so I downloaded it. After I extracted the "receipt" and tried to open it, it wouldn't open but at that very moment I began to get movie trailer sound-bites and strange jungle sounds as well. All the browsers were closed and I still would get these. So I rebooted my computer in safe mode and ran Malwarebytes. It detected five Trojans and I ran the removal operation and I then re-ran Malwarebytes again to make sure it got it all, (after rebooting the computer in safe mode a second time). According Malwarebytes it was clean but unfortunately it is not. Once I opened the computer in normal mode I immediately got a dialog box that opened and said the following:"There was a problem starting C:\users\Agatha\data\roaming\ifpopr.dll The specified module could not be found". In addition, I continually get pop-ups from my taskbar by my MS Security Essentials saying "detected threats are being cleaned no action needed" (I don't believe that anything is running regarding MS security essentials and this is just being triggered by the virus). This virus is nothing new and I was an idiot for not scrutinizing that email but what's done is done. I've googled this virus and there's a lot about it but no one said anything about how to get rid of it. Does anyone have any suggestions in the way of programs designed and targeting this exact Trojan? I would think there would be one out there being that this is been around since at least 2008 from what I read. Thank you, Rich
