  1. Thanks for the info. It has been some experience, but have good news to report. Followed the instructions (tried these exact steps previously) and got same results: "CoCreateInstance failed; code 0x80040154. Class not registered" for each .lnk the installer tried to create. Clicked OK on all these and got to final screen. Left all boxes (update, launch, enable PRO) checked and clicked finish. Get several error boxes: "Run-time error 372. Failed to load control "webbrowser" from ieframe.dll. Your version of ieframe.dll may be outdated. . . . ." To me it appeared some of my windows components were corrupted, so set about correcting that. To make a (very) long story short, that ended up with blue screen of death. Was able to boot in safe mode. Eventually tried reverting back to a restore point and voile, all worked. Original problem gone (opening browser) and was able to install MBAM successfully. Ran a scan and found no issues. So now just need to retrace steps on what I did to create problem in first place. Thank you for your help.
  2. Hello. Running Windows XP Pro SP3 and Norton 360. Have had no problems whatsoever until yesterday. I have been trying to install MBAM and am receiving the following messages. Others have reported this, and I have followed the advice given, with no success. During setup, get messages about "CoCreateInstance failed; code 0x80040154, Class not registered" each time a ".lnk" tries to be created. I click OK for each of these. MBAM begins to run, then get the following message a couple times - "Run error 372 - failed to load control "webbrowser" from ieframe.dll. Version of ieframe.dll may be outdated." I have tried installing in normal and safe mode, with Norton 360 antivirus enabled and disabled. MBAM version I am trying to install is most recent. Thanks for any assistance.
