  1. Hello, So I downloaded a file of the internet which I thought I could trust but couldn't. So I downloaded the file without problems and ran a deep scan with viper 2013 which notified me I had Trojan.Win32.Generic!BT and it said it had quarantined etc. and the pc shut down once the scan had completed. However during the scan I uninstalled the program that I believed the virus came from and upon reboot downloaded malware bytes and ran a full scan and another deep scan on viper 2013. Although I probably should have I tried to solve it my self by following guides and editing the registry only one of the things I was supposed to delete was visible so I only deleted that. So far I have noticed no redirects or obvious signs of infection. But what worried me is that my mouse has frozen temporarily twice however I can still flick between the windows 8 start screen and desktop in this time. So what I'm saying is I don't know if by uninstalling that did anything to remove the problem but is there anyway I can tell if I have or and any steps I could take to remove it? (bearing in mind it would have to be in great detail and a step by step as I am not the best with computers but do not have the money to hire someone to look at it). I have run both Vipre 2013 and MalwareBytes anti malware deep/full scans several times - literally like 10 scans on Vipre and 5 scans on MalwareBytes and absolutely nothing besides cookies are turning up did uninstalling the programme really get rid of the problem? The MalwareBytes log: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Trial) 1.65.1.1000 www.malwarebytes.org Database version: v2012.12.26.13 Windows 7 x64 NTFS Internet Explorer 9.10.9200.16453 Sparky :: IDEA-PC [administrator] Protection: Enabled 26/12/2012 23:44:38 mbam-log-2012-12-26 (23-44-38).txt Scan type: Full scan (C:\|D:\|) Scan options enabled: Memory | Startup | Registry | File System | Heuristics/Extra | Heuristics/Shuriken | PUP | PUM Scan options disabled: P2P Objects scanned: 176071 Time elapsed: 54 minute(s), 47 second(s) [aborted] Memory Processes Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Folders Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) Files Detected: 0 (No malicious items detected) (end)
