  1. Finished cleaning/uninstalling. I then uninstalled Avast and installed Bit Defender. Then d/l and installed MBytes again. Seems to be OK today but let's leave this thread open for 4-5 days and see how it behaves. If all goes well I (or not) I'll come back up and request you close this out? Thanks for your help, jeff
  2. No dice. I went through the steps outlined in the link. -Shutdown/restarted-no fix -d/l and ran the netfix file -Rebooted Mbytes did not start with the boot, did not update when I opened the program (actually crashed twice). It finally manually updated but there is no db version in the icon. It still does not auto start with windows, does not update and the real time protection will not start (even if selected). Still get the red exclamation on the icon in the task bar and the Fix Now button does nothing.
  3. I have had this problem several times and no amount of cleaning/uninstalling/reinstalling of Malwarebytes has provided a solution that lasted longer than several days before it again stopped running. I downloaded all the programs that you have other folks in my boat d/l and run. I have attached those files (3) so that maybe the problem can be resolved once and for all. I am running Win 8.1 64 bit, MBytes premium, Avast a/v and Private firewall 7.0 Thanks in advance for any and all help, Jeff Addition.txt CheckResults.txt FRST.txt
  4. OK, I have the auto update feature working thanks to you. I'll go to the link you provided and see what I can come up with. Seems Windows update does not like 2 of the newest updates-quite possible something is up... Thanks much, Jeff
  5. Thanks for the reply. I can update manually but with all the PCs in the house, I would prefer things update on their own if possible. I'll go in and shedule updates then....thought I had done that...egg on face.
  6. OK, here are the two requested files. Thanks, Jeff attach.txt dds.txt
  7. I can't find anything remotely similar to "C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs" Any suggestions as to any other place it might be hidden?
  8. Thanks for the courtesy of the replies. The MB Pro is still on the same PC-it just quit updating on its own. Here is the first part you requested in your instructions; I will work on the second part of part 1 ASAP.. Thanks, Jeff CheckResults.txt
  9. I inherited my father's PC and it came w/Pro installed. It initially updated on its own but now does not. I am wondering if the paid subcription has expired. Try as I might, I see no way of determining any dates. Also, is there a way to set it to the default settings just as if it were newly installed? Thanks in advance, Jeff
  10. I think this program is the best free program out there. I want to support it by purchasing the Pro option. My question is: . Will $24.95 cover all 4 of my PC's? I have 3 laptops and a desktop-I love MWB's but I don't $100 love it...lol I like to pay for programs that I use and recommend to family/friends. Thanks and I look forward to an answer. Best regards, Jeff
